    Yes, after losing. It's only his second international tournament. Looked a bit stiff. I heard he was worried about taking on LCW but he did OK.

    India's chief coach is quite an animated person.

    Check out Hendra's smash grip. His forefinger doesn't touch the handle....

    You didn't use the flash, no gigantic lens, no tripods?

    actually from the quality of those pics, looks like a gigantic lens was used...

    especially when the settings appear to be 1/500s and f2.8 with such close up shots

    I can see the problem with using flash but what's the issue about using a big lens?

    @Cheung

    That's because what you see is the follow thru... one would pull a tendon/muscle if one were to force the forefinger to remain on the handle on such a follow thru after a smash.

    But you can bet that before and during strike, his forefinger is applying pressure onto the handle in order to accelerate the racket head.

    Cheung, don't say that, I'm still learning!

    For those currious about my settings, I only brought along my humble 135mm/f2, settings at 1/800sec, f stop ranges from 2.0 to 3.5, ISO around 2000. Lighting very good in there, about 1.5 to 2 stops better than what I have to deal with in local clubs and gyms!

    It was even better last year. At some areas on court, we could go to ISO 800! They have decreased the light levels this year :(

    Let's look at the tournament doctor's role...

    Here he sits.

    IMGL1771.jpg

    Then he goes up for the examination (with the gloves on). He is testing the eye movements here

    IMGL1933.jpg

    Here come the eyedrops which came from a team member in the audience, then thrown down to the coach who then brought it to the courtside.

    It must be a racquet problem.
