This season opener badminton tournament is expected to deliver world class matches ;) Will we see another Lee CW v Chen L in finale?

Today's qualifying matches will be started on 11.00am local time, most of them involve local players. INA's Simon Santoso will take on home shuttlers and if he passes qualification, Chen Long will be his opponent tomorrow, tough drawing.

Simon clears first hurdle in qualification, next he will face reigning World Junior Champ Heo Kwang Hee to secure main draw ticket.

Hmmm...what happened to MAS? They did not have breakfast yet? The MD game lasted only 27 min and the WS one only lasted 30 min.

now there very cold, of course they cannot 'tahan' the cold weather there, furthermore is morning match. However it is common for any China players as they likely wake up very early morning around 4-5am before their match...

Indeed cold weather troubles South East Asia players, looks like they don't perform well here.

So with the same logic, it could be said that European players (or those who live in 4 seasons area) might not have perform well in South East Asia because it's too hot and humid. :D

Malaysia's 2nd best MS and MD players were humiliated in the 1st round of the main draw by unseeded opponents.
The much touted Chong Wei Feng couldn't even handle Vladimir Ivanov bowing out in straight games 18-21, 11-21 in 35 minutes.
The same humiliation was handed to Hoon Thien How/Tan Wee Kiong (S7) by the unseeded and unknown Chinese players, Kang Jun/Liu Cheng, 9-21, 13-21 in 28 minutes.
What's wrong with the Malaysians who couldn't even pass the 1st hurdle? Their coaches are as good as those for their opponents and so no blame could be attributed to them. In fact they can get better perks and facilities in the BAM set-up than many others in other countries. They just have to buck up.
