If LD changed sponsor, since Victor, Yonex & Adidas have been mentioned before. My wild guess are Babolat or Mizuno. I thought Kason too for a while, but it have been bought by Lining and dedicated to mid range market from their product line up pricing.

Anyway, i can't wait to know the new sponsor.

C'mon guys that was an old video of LD in FedEx infomercials on badminton techniques. If you watch the last few minutes (from around 19 min onwards) , it shows how video editing was done to make it happen. LD didn't even come close to hitting the tube at any time. As a matter of fact, his final smash was into the net... :p

Oh, the thread is working now. The above on Lin Dan opening a cafe was also posted by RedShuttle at the Chinese Badminton thread. Guess it's true otherwise he won't lend his name to it.

It's actually a Korean coffee chain. The sponsor for Lin Dan's Team (BaYi) has the franchise right in China. Lin Dan seems an investor in this particular store.

It is in Beijing somewhere: "北京市朝阳区SOHO尚都北塔1层2188", i.e. the ground floor of this address: https://www.google.com/maps/place/S...ata=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x34d74e227cbf4606

Wow, that red satin suit is really something for the eyes!

Looks a bit like the red envelopes my kids got on New Years.
And just like those red envelopes, inside that red suit is something (or someone) that is worth money!;)

Is that mean he hasn't back to training yet? That won't be good for his chance to compete at the highest level.

If I were in LD's shoes, I wouldn't bother with competing anymore.
He has got every major title in badminton and he has nothing more to prove.
LD, just do what you are doing and enjoy the fruits of your success.

It's near impossible now, I think, for him to come back again from this kind of hiatus....

but I would love to see it.....! :D

Any "real news" about Lin Dan's comeback?

I can't read chinese web-pages, and that seems to be the only place to get news on Lin Dan....

I read that his first tournament appearances could have been as early as AllEngland Qualifier or Swiss Open Gold, but I have yet to see Lin Dan's name on a drawsheet.

I saw a couple of Chinese badminton league matches he played a couple of months back, and the exhibition match with LCW. But nothing else has surfaced.

I'm going to see a lot of the world championships (being played just 2 km from my home), so I'm curious to follow Lin Dan's comeback and chase for a wild card.

Any news, either on his physical training/condition or planned tournament appearances, are welcome!

He actually held the pair of scissors with his left hand. Wasn't there rumours saying he's actually right-handed but plays with his left hand? I guess that's not true then. Seems to be left-handed.

I have a badminton friend who plays with his left hand but writes and uses the chopsticks with his right.

Don't know which hand he uses for brushing his teeth and cutting.

Writing easier with right hand because if left, your hand would smear ink as you write.

Chopsticks easier with right hand, especially if sitting at a round table with others, otherwise whoever sits on your left will be fighting chopsticks with you with his right hand.

Cutting is easier with right hand, simply because of how scissors are designed to cut. Try cutting with your left hand and you'll realize what I mean. ;)
