I believe his coach really knows what he's doing... after all not many can really tahan his training method... those who can most likely can be successful...
I think MR has somewhat failed in his quest to be the top Malaysian MS singles. Wasn't he supposed to achieve that this year?
He is definitely making great progress having seen him at the Welsh International. Lost to the eventual winner Fleming Quach who already plays Premier/Super series. He's the one to watch.
just claim his first international challenge few days ago. congrats to him for the breakthrough! http://www.rte.ie/sport/other-sport/2013/1207/491499-ramdan-claims-irish-badminton-open-title/

I think he should go Superseries by at least mid next year to see where he stands against the big guns.
Since he is independent, is it a deliberate tactic to 'build' his portfolio? Having a number of titles (albeit small ones), will look good for sponsorship.
he should win a few gp,then aim gp gold then ss.2 more years should be still better than bam-no-brainer-simply-send-player-to-tournament planning
and he is now in Italy to participate the XIII Italian International. will play against Lukas Schmidt in few hours from now. he beat LS in Irish open semi final, 3 games, lost the second one, saved 4 match points in rubber. can he repeat?
He is already 24 years old, and his best BWF ranking so far has been 42; at present it is 48. He has won titles at ICs and made last and semis days at some other GPs. This is not exactly heartening for the future of MAS singles. He needs to find another level of play, and soon enough. There are many players from other places who are 2-4 years younger than him and way higher up the rankings. He has got to find the fire. Or, someone needs to light a fire under him...
Lee picked up only one title in 2002 and 2003, reaching the final of the 2003 Malaysia Open (his first final of a major tournament) where he was defeated by Chen Hong of China. datuklee start making final, at age 20-21 but finally become top4 player at 25...
Sorry, my bad about the age. However, I don't think it would be fair to compare Ramadan to LCW- the two are very different, not just in style but also in general level of play, and LCW even in his early years was a top-10 player. Ramadan just does not appear to have the drive or the arsenal to do this, at least not right now. Just a quick glance at the BWF MS rankings will show us that there are many players in the age ground 20-23 who are ranked way higher than Ramadan, and have been there consistently. Obviously there has been something lacking in Ramadan's case. It is all very fine to compete at IC and GP levels and obtain decent results like Fri/Sat/Sun appearances. But unless you begin to play more GPGs, SS etc and pit yourself regularly against better or equal players, how will you improve or get the experience or confidence to improve?
