Bonny is the new title sponsor for China Masters. Don't know much about them. Can't even open their website. Too bad, no freebie ads.
A certain Mr. Lin Dan, currently #105 in the world, intends to make his latest come back in this tournament. Wouldn't it be funny if other players gang up to register for this tournament and squeeze Mr. 105 off even the reserve list.
As for his appearance, I will believe when sightings are confirmed. Wonder if he'll turn up with a new sponsor on board.
I've heard of Bonny a little bit. They sponsor some east coast players in the US. I believe a club on the east coast over here is sponsored by them.
Whoa, initially I thought Bonny Clothing is the new sponsor. If so, we might have seen a lot of court-side advertisement boards featuring scantily-clad models (which is not a bad thing really although it could be distracting for players, spectators and officials) But the logo says it all. The new sponsor is Bonny Sports. Interesting, very interesting. A challenge to Li Ning inside China! Bonny Sports is a Taiwanese sports goods manufacturer. However, their factories and logistics are based in China. If I'm not wrong, it's been around for at least 30 years. In the 1990s, they were also the OEM of choice for Prince, Carlton and Yonex (but only for racquets, not for shuttles, shoes, bags or other accessories). Before 2000, all of them moved their production to either their own assembly lines or other cheaper OEMs. Long Live Badminton
I don't see how Li Ning would let that happen without terminating the contract with the Chinese team. The black racket may be a trial copy that is not fully painted. Mrs. Lin Dan was the spokesperson for Bonny but no longer.
Once upon a time, Lin Dan's face was on a Sotx racket. He supposedly used Sotx Woven 13. Sotx was the sponsor of the Ba Yi Team. Also memorable from that era was the Sotx-sponsored training video with a young Wang Xin among the students.
