Venue : Siri Fort Indoor Stadium, New Delhi-IND Order of play : http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...EBA21A-B76C-4D79-97C3-2B68F3CB04A3&d=20140523 IND time : http://www.worldtimezone.com/time/wt...ma=Find Time THOMAS Cup SEMIFINALS : - CHN v JPN (12.00pm), court 1 - MAS v INA (06.00pm), court 2 Title holder CHN who cruised into semifinal smoothly without dropping a match will be tested by the resilient JPN squad, rematch of 2012 edition semifinal when CHN crushed JPN 3-0 at that time. Will they repeat once again or the Japanese give strong resistence or maybe upset them? Two neighboring countries INA v MAS in second session semifinal contest. Merah Putih team passed hard test to defeat tough KOR opponent by 3-2 yesterday while MAS tamed DEN with strong fashion 3-1. INA has chance to pick winning point in MD1, MD2 and MS3. UBER Cup SEMIFINALS : - CHN v KOR (12.00pm), court 2 - IND v JPN (06.00pm), court 1 Heavyweight fave CHN once again will take on their nemesis KOR, this time at semifinal stage. Last three editions they always facing each other, 2008 (seminal), 2010 (final) and 2012 (final). The Chinese brigade has advantage to enter final round unless the Koreans could produce another huge upset ala 2010. The high-spirited host Uber team has realized their dream to step into first ever semifinal. Most likely IND will apply their winning formation against second seed JPN, first two singles then followed by WD1. Interesting to see this semifinal encounter which may get thrilling atmosphere.
so i want to see malaysia vs indonesia thomas semi final...in term of team startegy.... best team when malaysia vs korea... malaysia 60% point is 1st single and 2nd single...winning point 60% to 2nd double tan and goh.... for indonesia 60% point 1st and 2nd double if ahsan and setiawan partner with others....winning point 60% to 3rd single... smile.gif
Is it considered a bit of an upset if KOR manages to get any points off mighty CHN in the UC? And as many have postulated, it's either going to be 3-0 to IND or 3-1/3-2 to JPN. Red light alert for Sindhu who put in an ordinary performance yesterday and was pushed to the limit. In TC, JPN's relative strength in MD could throw a scare in CHN's plans. Either Tago or Sasaki will have to come up big to give JPN any chance at all because if it goes as far as MS3, you know who's lurking in the shadows for CHN. The match of the day pits heated rivals INA against MAS. Neither will give a quarter with the final in sniffing distance. The key matches will be the middle ones–MD1 (slight edge to INA), MS2 (slight edge to MAS) and MD 2 (toss up). Predictions to follow later.
my calls for semifinals, session 1: UC: CHN 3-0 KOR TC: CHN 3-0 JPN session 2 waiting for INA - MAS line-up, predict no change on IND - JPN
I'm wondering why most people here said that MS2 is almost confirmed point for MAS. In my opinion, in term of skills and consistency in this tournament, Rumbaka and CWF are almost the same. It should be 50-50 though. Just my 2 cents.
bronze and SF target achieved by MAS team....can we go one step better? like most predict, MS1, MS2 and MD2 our only hope... INA MD1 too strong, and MS3, MAS too weak.... if unlucky, INA 3 MAS 1 if lucky MAS 3 INA 2 or most probably INA 3 MAS 2
Thanks CLELY for your very professional summary and presentation as always! IMO, if Hayom plays to his potential, there are very few men on the circuit who can stop him. The problem is, he too often stops himself before anyone else does! I watched a few of the matches, and some of India's UC team matches... and I do think Thulasi is a very under-estimated player with immense potential. She is undemonstrative in nature and kinda gets lost in all the drama and hype surrounding her team-mates. Her playing style is -not strangely- reminiscent of some of the Thai players, actually. She could well be the dark horse for India today. Meanwhile, China rolls on... with the ghosts of 2010 reminding them to remain alert. ...and Malaysia hangs in there to fight yet another day. An exciting Semi-finals feast!
Don't make us wait too long. Yeah, especially for all MAS supporters. Here is the problem. With target achieved, the desire is lost.
You're welcome The line-up for first session semifinals are already out... CHN v KOR => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...6EBA21A-B76C-4D79-97C3-2B68F3CB04A3&match=146 CHN v JPN => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...6EBA21A-B76C-4D79-97C3-2B68F3CB04A3&match=225 Nothing big surprise for the line-ups, each team fields their best and who's the first team to book final ticket for both Uber & Thomas Cup?
I'll be selfish this time so I hope Malaysia wins because then we would get a Chen Long vs LCW final. LD vs Simon Santoso wouldn't be too bad after Simon Santoso's recent win over LCW, but I still prefer Chen Long vs LCW. This is assuming China beats Japan - Japan's best chance to get to match 5 is if they win match 2 and 3.
China pretty sure will be in finals in uc..in tc i really want jpn to upset them..... kento totally has a realistic chance against DPY if he finishes off everything in straight sets...(if he is playing)Md1 is another chance..
With the lineups out, here are my calls: UC: CHN 3-0 KOR. At worse, CHN 3-1 KOR if LXR has a stinker of a day and SJH edges it. CHN WDs are frickin' ridiculous. And in the highly unlikely scenario they go 5, CHN can still troop WYH. Yikes, murderer's row! TC: I'm going to go all ridiculous because of poster spicy food and his Friday theory . Hell, why not. I think JPN has a fair chance to pick up one or two points from MD1, MS2 and MD2. Then CHN wheels its atomic bomb in MS 3 and nukes Sasaki to make the final score CHN 3-2 JPN.
yeah agree that thulasi has high potential... but still it would be a very tough job against akane yamaguchi...
