Indian pair put up a good fight.... A match like this is a confirmation for IND contention in the Uber Cup, that IND has arrived to the first tier from their long standing second tier ranks...
IND was just 4 points away from a final appearance in this match, still 2 more matches to achieve the historic feet...

Next, the JPN's baton is passed to Eriko to carry on the fight. Can she rise to the occasion? We shall see afterwards.

    Same goes for Thulasi.

If JPN women's Uber team reaches the final like their male counterparts , they emulate what CHN did the last few editions

Indeed. India reached semifinals when most of the top teams already out of the tournament. Korea is gone. Thailand is gone. Indonesia is gone. Etc

Sweet Dreams of MAS winning the TC and KL came alive with long queues of appreciative Malaysians lining the streets to welcome back the heroes. A public holiday is declared to celebrate the joyous occasion. :D:D:D

Not when the depth in the doubles is so weak that it is better to put two singles players together to play doubles.

It will not come down to the last MS in the Thomas Cup final. LCW is a guaranteed first point - I'm willing to bet on that. If they can defeat Ahsan/Setiawan, the Malaysian MD1 can take on anyone, and you can bet they'll be all fired up after defeating the Indonesian pair. As for Chong Wei Feng...it's all about the momentum! Malaysia has the experience, tradition, and momentum on their side so I'm sure they'll nick it.

Thulasi is not to be underestimated, the more so when Eriko has not only to deal with her opponent but also her own nerves.

Hope they don't become overconfident and commit all sorts of silly errors though. :D:rolleyes:

Sure enough, Eriko misses an easy put-away, attributed no doubt to her eagerness to win.

Yes, IND definitely needs to groom doubles for its liking, still With the way I see the top 3 matches of IND in the uber cup barring CHN and Korea to an extent, IND seems at par with atleast 50-50 chances against all the rest...
Hence amongst the top tier team...
as I type PC Thulasi in the lead in WS3

I have it 8-7 to Hirose. It seems very close.

India is no way in the first tier of badminton - close, yes - but not quite there.
