Uh, it doesn't seem to be the case for Ahsan... he's using the FB (or a repainted version again?)

Yeah, saw that too. Ahsan doesn't seem to like the NR900 too much... :p

    * Only "experts" can tell it's a repainted FB ;):p

[before this* further confuses some people in a few months time, :D: I am assuming from the comments above he did actually use a FB colourway racket later on in the tournament but clearly used the Nanoray 900 earlier on, hence "back to"]

He used the Arc FB in the match against Hoon Thien How and Tan Boon Heong.

Why would they disguise the new NR900 as a FB?! They (Yonex) surely want to promote and sell their new racket?

samsudds My reply to visor was of course a joking one. Visor's respons to my link was made with a wink as well ;);), after all I wrote "back to fb" and linked to a pic of him using the NR900 (only to illustrate he did use it like maklike mentioned in the beginning of the tournament before later switching "back to fb")

As for the "fake boost" comment, it is quite possible he is using a custom 3U FlashBoost rather than the F or 5U consumer models ... (as a Yonex advisory staff contract player directly in contact with Yonex Japan; not that every pro is using custom made rackets which I'm glad coach paul stewart for example finally experienced himself when stringing for Victor contract players at this year's All England so we won't have to read that anymore in future reviews or responses to advice request ;))

Yes I noticed that. In earlier rounds I noticed FB came out of the bag and sat on the top of the box ready to be grabbed. Perhaps there's a lack of confidence in this racket and why on earth test a new racket on such an important occasion?

We also know Ahsan's FB must be a custom version as a 5U version cannot withstand the high tensions.

A similar thing happened with Taufik and the Arc ZS - he changed back to the Arc 10 when things got real, and a statement appeared on the Yonex website explaining why:).

Setiawan should be perfectly happy, though - same spec as his old blue NR.

If only this thing were x-stiff... I'd probably get one!

Sayaka Takahashi also started the match using NR900, subsequently jumping back to the old color scheme NR700FX, in two matches.
