OMG! I'm glad nobody got hurt! These images are what I found on: http://us.24h.com.vn/the-thao/sap-tran-nha-thi-dau-giai-cau-long-vn-open-vdv-hu-hon-c101a655067.html
will probably be the next badminton sensation for a while on Youtube after the Canadian Open fight The guy was saying happy new year wei?
glad nobody is hurt. having a roof collapse is unbelieveable. was it raining outside? the video has certainly been going around this morning.
The spectators and players must be shocked of that dangerous incident, fortunately none was hurt. Yup, new venue is Tan Binh Sports Center and today's programme will stage MS R/64 and XD R/32, order of play (02.00pm, 4 courts) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=C36BBEFE-B7D9-4EC8-B46C-821960390346
So those who were interrupted in the middle of their match, do they start at the score they ended at, or do they start over?
If not for the video, I couldn't have imagined how scary it was. Indeed most fortunate that nobody was injured, what a close shave. Had the roof collapsed at where the umpire was seated, s/he might not have gotten away in time as he'd have to get down the high chair first. Perhaps they heard the roof rumbling for a while and had the instinct to run away before it came tumbling down.
There's been heart attacks (a BWF official) , I think an epileptic fit (China player?) and aircon switched off so why not the roof falling down?
Can someone please ascertain the reason behind this? The only reason I can imagine is either corruption, or low quality material. I hope, given the ongoing tensions between Vietnam and China, that China is not involved in this incident in ANY way. Because, a slight tinge of anything chinese, and people's brigade will start the anti-chinese campaign. Though it may be the vietnamese fault to deliberately chose low quality chinese material from better chinese material, due to cost or corruption, the chinese will face all the flak.
