Towi/Lily will only have themselves to blame if they don't pick up this year's title. I'm backing Michelle Li to win against Minatsu. Michelle is improving all the time. I'm backing Line to take one game off WYH, as well. I'm backing Porntip to turn Sindhu inside out and get her frustrated. That's the only way she'll win against Sindhu right now, because Sindhu is spoiling for a fight with someone, anyone! I'm backing Tago to go to the finals -and win it, as long as he doesn't have to meet Jan O again! Somehow, the WD seems wide open to me. But I'm backing the #1 seeds to NOT get this one!
A rare golden opportunity, MS Trophy for the ROW -corrected . With the absence of the World's Giant Trio, the 2014 French Open will present the golden chance for the ROW MS to grab the trophy in a tournament of SuperSeries category. So far in 2014 for SS category and higher the MS trophies go to: Maybank Malaysia Open SSP - Lee Chong Wei Victor Korea Open SS - Chen Long Yonex All England Open SSP - Lee Chong Wei Yonex- Sunrise India Open SS - Lee Chong Wei (*) OUE Singapore Open SS - Simon Santoso Yonex Japan Open SS - Lee Chong Wei The Star Australian Open SS - Lin Dan BCA Indonesian Open 2014 SSP - Jan O Jorgensen Li Ning BWF World Championships 2014 - Chen Long Yonex Denmark Open SSP - Chen Long Yonex French Open SS - ??? (the ROW beyond the giant trio) (*) thx Woffle for the correction With regard to the above outcomes, Jan O Jorgensen achieves the best performance among the ROW in 2014 (and his WR at #3 says so), followed by Simon Santoso
Yeah! Although it does often look more like Ivanov vs the opponents, with a little side assist. Ashwini doesn't play front very convincingly at all.
Rather funny description but rightful, esp. after the painful razor-thin loss to SJH last week, as SJH being home already, any opponent facing Sindhu in France will have a taste of fierce bull fighting just taste the Sindhu's might!
Sindhu, WSX, WYH, SN are all seeded players and the top 8 seeded players are expected to meet each others in QF while top 4 are expected to meet each others in SF. That's the rule. Unless they change their WR and thus their seed #, they are going to meet each other in QF assuming they pass the first two rounds so it's not that the IND girls are "unlucky" because they always meet higher seeds.
Yup, the very rare opportunity The defending champion Jorgensen is hot fave here, followed by Kenichi Tago, Tommy Sugiarto. Don't know about CHN MS prospect, without LD & CL seems they find difficulty to produce significant outcome. Too bad Son WH didn't take part, his performance is really excellent lately.
Zhang Beiwen continues her good form to book R/16 spot after won Dutch Open GP and being quarterfinalist, forced the eventual winner Li XR in rubber games last week in Odense.
All indian players are struggling against left hand players. No idea, what prannoy might be thinking... have to ask his personal coach , mr.cobalt..
Wow, she destroyed poor Bella! At this rate, we could even possibly see ZBW on the podium in Rio 2016!
It's a lovely day in Paree, and my dear LXR has every intention of taking it all in, outside the stadium. 21-11, done-n-dusted, Paris, here I come!
Another MS match, another India vs Japan match-up. This time, it's Tago and Kashyap. Time for Tago to show he means to take this title this year. Time for Kashyap to stop him in his tracks. Meanwhile, Prannoy takes G2 21-15, and into the decider with Kento Momota.
Looking at Li XR CV in this year, she always cruise into finale of 8 tournaments so far, an impressive record!
