It's a little strange that there is no clear report or statement as to why Simon has not been playing recently. Hope Hau-ge could somehow help us out here "unofficially", considering Simon is not with PBSI...
Simon was recalled back to pelatnas right after he won SIN SS. He also withdrew from CHN SSP. I am wondering if he ever will enter any tournament the rest of 2014.
He seems to do better when is out of pelatnas though. He won the Malaysian Grand Prix Gold then the Singapore Open as you said. he just needs to get his body right.
But that were last years' result. Indeed, he is under a lot of pressure playing under national banner. He recently lost to Kento Momota in Singapore Open pretty bad.
yes he did. I was hoping he may be able to retain the Singapore SS title. Can he still play in the sudirman cup even though he has left PBSI?
Yes. PBSI can request any shuttlers. However, they are not going to ask Tommy or Simon this time. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/re...inton-Indonesia-lashes-exiting-shuttlers.html
Oh wow. That pretty much settles that. Looks like independent is the way for those two now. But aside from Tommy and Simon, there isn't really anyone left? Rumbaka perhaps?
Whoa! Look who is talking...! Rexy Mainaky has suddenly turned ultra-patriotic! Isn't this the guy who went around peddling his services to the highest bidder? What a hypocrite!
If he is not playing at INA SS Open in June, is he even qualified to participate in World Championship also in INA? His performance has faded sadly.
Simon will play tonight 8:00 local time at the Smiling Fish International Challenge in Thailand, his first since leaving Pelatnas this April. It's tough for players once they leave Pelatnas, they have minimum funding to play tournament overseas which is now what Tommy, Sonny and Simon are all going through. Tommy stated somewhere that he has his parents to help support and finance him at the moment.
Good to see he's somewhat fit again. Was fearing he was/still injured or he'd retired. He did pretty well last time as an independent player. Hope he still has a few good years at the top left in him.
