Thanks. Is there a way I can watch the already happened matches like Saina vs Sayaka Takahashi and today's match on the internet? bwfworld.tv channel on youtube is streaming only the current match and not the whole day continuously so that I can rewind and watch today's match.
Round of 16 - Saina vs Qin Jinjing
Saina Nehwal will go up to World No. 4 in next week's rankings irrespective of her result in the final. Points calculation 63471 + 9350 - 5040 = 67781
#4 or not, Saina will have a very tough time in the finals. I have seen Akane play a few times before, and she was nowhere near as good as in this tournament. How a fat girl like that moves so well is beyond my comprehension. But Saina seems to have improved a bit as well. It will be interesting. In any case, I missed today's Saina game as well(the only I managed to watch live was the Suo Di one). So if anyone can give a link it will be really nice. I can't seem to find any yet and I don't want to wait another 24 hours.
Thanks, but the link doesn't seem to work. Even with proxies. Only the link for match 5 works because that's current. EDIT:Actually a diffgerent proxy seems to be working. Thanks. It's strange - some proxies work for live streaming while others work for normal ones.
Just a few pages back I was wondering if there was any player who beat 4 Chinese in a tourmanent. Saina just beat 3 Chinese players in a row. Too bad she won't get a 4th Chinese in the finals or else Saina might have been that player. But add the fact that she is playing in China and that makes it 3.5 Chinese opponents at least.
Again, how does it even matter that you have beaten x number of Chinese players, no matter how large x is? She is the world rank 5, and this means that barring 4 players she should be able to beat the rest. All chinese are different, why do you have to club them together, in such a way? What matters is WHO she beats. And she has beaten what, Qin Jinjing, a 17 year old teen? or Suo Di who may be playing her 3rd or 4th superseries? Liu Xin is far better, but shouldn't have been a problem.
Well, she can always go back and say she beat three Chinese players in a row. Who cares who they were? Nobody in the newspaper will check.
The newspaper will write she beats 3 Chinese players and the reader will exclaim : Who is this Japanese girl?
How do linejudges contribute 0.5 to playing for the CHN, baffles me? BWF, you have to look into this because the linejudges are all approved by you and they come from various countries. This is scandalous though it's mouthed by some sneaky fellow with sinister intentions, I suspect. Perhaps BWF should look into properly vetting and carefully screening and selecting the tournament officials to make sure they don't do anything that might bring disrepute to the sport and threaten badminton's place in the Olympics. Start by checking with that fellow who repeatedly make those accusations here and carry out a thorough investigation urgently.
I think the hawk eye cancels that out.^^ Yes, but technically one of those Chinese was actually a French.
She was registered under the French association. Was she already naturalized as a French citizen? If you go back further, she was registered by the Danish badminton federation.
Admittedly, she didn't beat top tier Chinese( I mean the holy trinity of LXR, WYH and WSX), but these were hardly ordinary players. Certainly this can be boasted about Personally I don't read too much into rankings. Saina has a +ve h2h record against every major non-chinese player including retired ones like Tine Baun or Schenk. Yet someone like Yao Xue from China ranking above 20 has a win more against Saina than vice versa. There is something about China that you simply can't measure using rankings. Also, I will not give too much importance to the 17yo part. Her opponent in finals is also 17.
