Honestly it's feel is already better than 8PS... once I put in some ZM62 Fire strings on there, the feel should be perfect
This is one thing I like most about BS frames. They tend to have a very tall sweetspot, even though it is a bit narrow. So I'm glad this trait is reflected in the JS10 as it suits my style nicely. I'm not so keen on the balance though if it is indeed head heavy... would you say that it's as head heavy as say a 3U BSLYD? I find the BSLYD probably the worst in terms of defence speed of the victor racquets I have. Interesting you say the feel is "probably" better than the 8PS, not tried that yet... but remember people saying there is a muted feel compared to the old BS/MX range. Do you get that with the JS10?
^ I've swung both 4U and 3U BSLYD, and I'd say my JS10 swings in between them... managebly so. If you've ever tried a 4U VTZF, this is almost how it feels, but not as head heavy. Feel wise, I think there's more feel than my 8PS (which was muted but still not as bad as ZSpeed), but I'll need more time playing touch shots to see.
Update Feel : is definitely better than 8PS. Seems normal like MXJJS/70. Maybe can benefit from stringing 1 lb higher than usual. On Ch1k0's feel scale where 1 is ZSpeed, 2 is JS8PS and 5 is MX80, JS10 is a 3.5. Can't wait to get some ZM62 Fire string on it asap when I can get my hands on some hopefully in the next 2 weeks. Power : wow, just as ZSpeed is not a NS replacement, this is not a BS replacement. It's not balanced as per listed specs, but quite moderately head heavy. Much heavier swing wt than its dry specs would imply (81.8g, 36.1g, 297mm). I've never swung a 4U TK9000 or 8000, but this can't be too far off. It's a whippy mini hammer, resulting in super effortless forehand and backhand clears... almost to the point where I thought I was playing with shuttles of the wrong speed. Higher sweet spot : adjusting to it by holding higher up the handle. Very solid and crunchy strike. Will add more when I think of more items.
I'm allowed 1 new racquet a season. 7ish weeks to the All England too, I'll be meeting up with Paul and Ben they may find their demo bag to be a racquet lighter when they go home
The VTZF isn't my kind of my racquet. I tried it and I absolutely hated that racquet. Guess there's no reason for me to even think about the JS10 going forward.
Yeah, it almost feels like a 5U VTZF, if there was ever one... pretty stiff yet a tad whippy, but has a mini hammer like swing.
One more thing to add... paintwork is not good. It doesn't have much clearcoat... looks like a matte powdercoat. So the black parts at 10 and 2 o'clock already show scuff marks from just picking up birds from the mat after just 1 session ! Argh! That's ridiculous!
