Awesome display by srikanth. Congratulations to Srikanth for winning SWISS OPEN GPG title. Good victory for him. He has age in his side. Still lots of areas for improvement. Hope he plays very well in the years to come.

whether he will surpass Lindan in Ranking after Swiss open 2015 ?. Because last year he lost in the first round. This year he took the title.

    i mean, 59,397 -1050 +7000 = 65347.

No. Still he is less than lindan by nearly 100 points. So, the ranking remains ...

    1050?

You only count 10 best ranking point achievements and you replace the worst one if you score higher so in this instance Sri worst one counting to replace is 2660 from the Indonesian open. So it is
59,397-2660+7000 = 63737 is new total for him.

Really enjoyed his game in Swiss open, it is reassuring that with the decline of a lot of the top players we have exciting badminton to come in the future. Both he and Viktor played good attacking Badminton, fast paced and exciting, both trying to take the bull by the horns, instead of this new style so many players are favouring of "all rounder".
Here's to Srikanth and his exciting style, I hope it does not get trained out of him yet, he is young enough to deal with the physicality and I am sure with small improvements that style will take him to the top.

I also agree. We would like a flamboyant and maverick player in for more excitement and variety . Just like what Taufik did in his prime. Not textbook ones.

Srikanth 's style is totally the opposite of Taufik's. What did you mean by "like what Taufik did in his prime"?

He is comparing Srikanth with Taufik in his prime, not playing style. Which translates an Olympic gold and #1 ranking is within reach.

Don't you understand what he was saying..? He didn't compare the styles. He meant to say that srikanth has a unique style as if Taufik had when he was in his prime. This does not mean both are same.

There must be a motive for him to pick none other than Taufik.

Puzzled me as well. I read it as a similar style. Thanks for clarification.

If you read his first sentence, you may feel like confused of what he was saying, but if you read his second sentence (i.e post #129. Not the text book ones), then you will get the clear picture of what he was saying.

Not that much. Around $8100 (more or less something like winning a GPG Gold tournament).
