Ashaway uses formaldehyde to manufacture strings? I thought it was only laminates that used formaldehyde and not actual hardwood floors.
Might be an Ashaway-enforced lock-out; we don't get the Power versions here, and they might want to stop people exploting overseas prices. Still, Ashaway's domestic prices are very good - there's little reason to go abroad for their stuff.
We actually have the 66 Fire Power as well as the 66 Fire here. I don't think we have the thinner strings yet.
I got some 62 Fires through Black Knight to try. Snapped 1 (mishit) in one session with a TK9000 strung at 25 x 27.5 lbs . Seems a bit more durable than my Version 1 Zymax 60s. Restrung with 69 fires at the same tension and it's holding up pretty well on 8 hours of play. I look forward to trying the 66 Fires on the JJS. The 66 fire power is nice and durable from an attacking perspective but need some adjustment when playing net shots because i'm more used to the feel of zymax 65 and gosen rx 110s.

You have to buy them from a dealer in your region. I can sell you some, but it's probably going to be cheaper for you if you buy locally so you don't have to pay shipping.
Just played with the 62F last night. I can say the 62F has more power than my 65 though need to get use to the BIG bounce for net shoot as my normally tight front net drops are about a foot high ....
With thin strings, use more of a scooping action when playing and controlling net shots. If you've ever used a Chinese wok to pan fry before, it's the same action holding the scooping utensil .
I find it odd that you would adjust your technique around your strings, and in general I wouldn't recommend adding a scooping action to your net play. Take the shuttle early. Personally I've never noticed an issue adjusting to thin strings. I don't need to change my technique. I just play the shot.
well, i was just helping him with the big bounce he noticed... he probably isn't using the right action to begin with...
Fair enough. Rather than be all negative, I'll throw a suggestion into the ring: play them softer. OP: I imagine you'll adjust pretty rapidly.
I just ordered 2 62 fire, 2 66 fire, 1 66 fire power from Winston. I will try them all to see which one suits me
