    Sorry for your loss!

I was going to ask for a similar reading for the BG66UM, but that might come back as an expensive test! lol

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha..... I actually had the other racket with the Black BG66UM on it ready for measuring but after what happened to the first one, I had second thoughts.... Also the racket with the BG66 was for someone else tomorrow...... actually, there is a way... the digitals can have reference point re-zeroed with two pieces of paper over the string.... wish me luck...!!!! back with results shortly....

Taaaa Daaaaa !! Here it it... BG-66UM at 26lbs.... Only slight loss in thickness but may a due to tension at 26lbs instead of the 30lbs for the ZM-66FP.....

    Thanks! You're a beast!

Also gotta note that BG66 UM is supposed to be a .65mm string!

So as you can now see, 66F is at least 0.68mm, so don't be afraid to try it... :)

Even though these new Fire strings may feel soft on handling and stringing, somehow the new BETA polymer feels properly medium hard on playing.

Well in these instances, if you don't laugh.... you'll just end up crying... :crying:

At least now we know the results and was able to make a few people laugh along the way...

I just strung my New BS12 with my last pack of 66FP... 28.5x31 with 15% prestretch.... man does it feel solid!

Wait till you try 66F! ;)

But I'm not sure you need prestretch on Fire strings?

So is the 66F meant to be better than 66FP..? In what way is it better or different..? Might have to get some from MBS to try out....

Not that it's better, but 66F has harder feel and more texture for better control. 66FP is softer feel and more slippery, for more power. That was how the prototypes felt like when I tried them a few months ago.

Will have to try to get my hands on some 66F and also 62F from MBS when they get them in 200m reels...might need the extra strings to check strung thickness of the 62F... :D

    Thanks for the info.....

Here's a simple close up comparison of left to right (unstrung) :
    62F, 62, BG66UM, BG80.

As you can see, 62F and 62 thickness are very close to 66UM unstrung, but from your measurements strung, it seems the Zymax strings thin out more than 66UM when strung.

Another consideration for you if you're going to measure more, do it on a single piece before tensioning and during tensioning on the tension head. If that breaks it won't be as painful as after being completely strung on a racket. ;)

You plonker! I could have included a set for you with your 69f. Next time maybe.

I find the 66FP has less control. I remember using the 62F and I was very happy with it.

I find I need to pre stretch all strings... I did the ZM62F at 10% last time and it lost a little tension.

Ime some strings especially those below .65mm shouldnt b prestretched otherwise they will lose their unique characteristics.

I have not yet tried the 66F but agree that the 66FP has less control when compared to the Zymax 65s.

Update on the 69: 69F's tension retention is really quite good. 2 weeks after stringing, it has a higher pitch than zm67 (2nd gen, strung a couple months ago), at the same tension. The string sounds lively but doesn't match up to the performance of 67, i must say.
