    Tomorrow's schedule is out.

CHN's interest in the competition may end by the third match and the organizers are saving the best for the last.

Lin Dan started losing ever since he changed to Yonex Voltric Zforce II. He should have just stuck to his Li Ning range. And just as I predicted, it's an Inthanon VS Saina final! Marin's style of play against Inthanon just spells doom. I'm not sure how to put it into words, but if you guys watch them play then you would understand the clashing style of play. Inthanon's relaxed wrist work and chop defense takes most opponents by surprise, except the chinese women players, who are ready for things like that. There's also something about Inthanon's facial expression that gives her opponents false hopes when they've taken the lead. Once again, I'm probably not getting the right words to express myself here, (I just got home after 4 hours of examinations), but those who watch her game will hopefully understand my point. All that said, I love both Saina AND Inthanon, so I will try to watch the game tomorrow objectively, and avoid supporting one over the other. Let the best lady win. Axelson VS Srikanth - the person who takes the initiative to go on an all out attack, mixed with crafty cross court drops should win the game. Srikanth obviously has was it takes to be that person so my bets are on him, but I wouldn't underestimate VA since he obviously still had quite a bit in his reserve tank when Tommy retired earlier.

It's possible LD is playing with the same racquet, just re-painted in Yonex. He certainly would have something similar to what he was using with Li Ning. I doubt his racquet has much to do with his losses at all.

No offense here and what I put here will be a bit out off topic. Today at Malaysian time 1.00 AM there is going to be a semi final match of Chan Peng Soon / Goh Liu Ying vs German mixed doubles. They just won the Polish Open 2015 last week. This is only their third tournament together but their ranking has improved from 270 to 117 this week itself. I am sure their ranking will improve again next week and break into the top 50 by next week. I will be watching their match live later. They are playing in French Open this week.

I m referring to the ranking system... not Sania

Same problem happens on the WTA tour where the likes of Wozinacki, Safina, Jankovic went to world #1 without winning a GS

Danish "Mads" have certainly stepped up their game a few notches! I can see them firmly making a stay in the MD top ten. One of them had really bad defense, I suppose, from being too lanky and clumsy, but that's a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, YES it is confirmed news that Lin Dan signed a contract with Yonex a few months back. This racket clearly doesn't suit him. What he could do is get a racket custom made for him under Yonex. he really shouldn't be using the generic Zforce II. If it's not a question of him not being used to the racket, it's definitely his knee injury acting up again. He's been playing like a toothless tiger, compared to the years before. Other theories I can think of: he's past his prime; or he's purposely giving an impression that his game is deteriorating, before taking the world by surprise by winning the World Championships and Olympics (which I'm quite sure he will).

Blabl - nice! I didn't know they fielded CPS/GLY for Orleans International 2015, until you mentioned it. They were firmly in the top 5 in the world once upon a time until GLY had knee problems and went for surgery. I love watching them play, especially CPS. Did I tell you guys, he actually smiled at me and showed me the "thumbs-up" before their match during the Superseries Finals in Malaysia in December 2013.

Okay I hope you will be able to watch it live today. You can find the live matches from the badmintonworldtv link. Their match is the first match at court 1 today which starts at 6.00 pm French time but it is 1.00 AM in Malaysia. I will be there to support them too. I remembered their world ranking is no 3 before Goh Liu Ying is injured and went for knee surgery. Malaysian players still play despite injuries. Goh V Shem injured his left and right knees but he is still playing. I guess Chan / Goh can win tonight.

Actually, SN has done enough before IO such that she does not even have to win a game at IO to become WR #1, unless CM reaches the final. So congratulations to the new WR#1 that her hard work finally paid off!

In the context of playing the World Rank game, an interesting subplot is that if SN did not enter IO, CM and IR would be in separate halves of the draw such that CM's chance of reaching the final would be very high. That would mean handing the WR#1 away to CM.

SN's WR#1 should inject new life to the already competitive WS scene. That should be good news to badminton fans.

An interesting point - I was reminded that Intanon lost, retired injured while 12-19 down in the decider, to Sun Yu just three weeks ago and today she defeated Marin to enter the final.

Monica Seles never won a wimbledon. She was a pretty ordinary player.

    Justin,

LXR is not playing. Why you are jealous of other countries' player achievement. Saina is so deserving of the #1 BWF ranking. She rose up in the most opportune time. Please do not make excuses for CHN players ok. I am tried of hearing them over and over. It is overused it no longer holds on its own.

    Yup.
And which is why I never bothered to reply about why Saina is not in the same level as Jankovic. It's just ridiculous to continue this debate.

What did you mean by "there is not much glory in women singles"... unless CHN WS players are in the finals you consider others' achievements reaching a SS event non eventful?

I see you are trying to please so many people in this forummmm... you praise CHN every time you gets a chance. Every post you submitted is an exact cut and paste of your previous posting.
