There are two differences between tennis and badminton:

    1. Badminton is played in an indoor arena. Tennis is outdoor. Given the same screaming, the one in indoor is more intense.

    2. In tennis, your scream will not affect players next court. In badminton, there may be two or three court which may be affected by your screaming.

I know this, I have watched it before. First the guy could have made it to provincial level team, which is quite different then european semi professional midtier men, and second this is exhibition match.

@ #2: So, meaning it is better for spectators not to scream and shout to support player playing in court 1 as it could affect other players playing in court 2/3/4/etc?

Yes, I think it would be better.

Screaming and shouting in support of player in court 1 would definitely affect players on court 2/3/4...

We are talking about executing or defending a shot with pinpoint accuracy at 400 km/hr. The less screaming and shouting, the better.

Did you guy watch the Japanese corporate matches? Every time a point is won no matter it's a unforced error or not, all the other teammates will all stand up, scream and shout for seconds. I think it's fun. I guess all the Japanese players are well-prepared for this kind of disturbance. :)

    Fitting campaing :D

She has played in the danish league last year and Madrid is a Badminton Europe certified training centre so other players from Europe train there every now and then. But yeah she spars with the men and that is indeed quite common for women to do in many sports ...
She also had training camps in Indonesia and Thailand last year I believe.

Tennis scream is different. It is similar to men doubles who shout when doing smash to give extra energy boost. Marin screams at the end of rally which is more to intimidate opponent and really annoy the players in the next court and fans who are watching the match

Well my spanish is not very good but I fathom that CM is in conflict with the Spanish Federation about the split of sponsorship.

I just came back from watching SO @ Sg Indoor stadium and realized many (i said MANY) players shouting and screaming at the end of rally. In fact one of them (Puttita SUPAJIRAKUL of Thailand) scream probably as loud as Marin.
And I notice no body care! Spectators still enjoying the match and other players in other courts still focusing on their own match.

I guess those will be affected only "new comer" with less experience may be?!

And may be Marin getting more attention after beating top players again and again recently...

    haters gonna hate ?? :D

I think the problem is the volume she does it at, not the fact she does it. As you said, many players do it.

^ But at some point if both sides are doing this to "warn their opponents", then the game would just degrade to a shouting match, wouldn't it?

It's probably psychological and she can't help it now

Ever noticed how Sharapova/ Azarenka don't scream during the warm up but do as soon as the match starts?

I've also noticed a few MD players grunt when smashing in a match, but not in the warm up.

I thought that during the final of MO CM was not shouting so much. At the beginning yes, but then there were long periods without shouts. I think she was too focus for that
