One should not divide to sharply the players and the national team as two separate parties. It is true that they are linked by obligations and rights, but also true that the individual sponsor is what makes the player able to play badminton, thus makes them represent their country at some ime. So indirectly, Kjeldens was 'giving' money to DBF. This is not to say the players were right to sign the contract they did sign, but it should makes the DBF manage this crisis with a soft hand.
the results of the blind test is Kjeldsen's wins by 2-0. both kids like the Kjeldsen's that i gave them. now I am not sure if it is because, like most of us, grow up eating Kjeldsen's thus biasing their choice. but that's what it is. to be totally accurate, we need to find subjects who has never eaten Danish butter cookies before. but that might be hard to find. anyway, personally, I think Danisa is not bad. a bit less buttery, and a bit crunchier. Danisa is more dangerous as it feel less oily after consuming. the wifey also commented that Kjeldsen's tastes better because it is more buttery. which totally gave away why quite a portion of the can has been consumed since they were opened....
Was it a double-blind test? Sample size was too small to be statistically significant. Also note that "[Danisa]It’s all dedicated for the individual who has a better taste."
Indonesia (Danisa's owner) gains the most. England improves it playoff chances from around 0-5% to 45-50%.
even without those five the danes still dangerous to INA and ENG Jorgensen and duo mads are still there, Kolding is also an XD specialist plus Ina and ENG have weak WS
I can´t understand why almost everyone thinks that Indonesia would lose to Denmark if this cookie incident had not happened. INA MD Ahsan/Setiawan are superior to DEN MD in fact they have never once lost to any DEN MD, Polii/Maheswari has 4-0 h2h against DEN top WD, look how easy Ahmad/Natsir won against Fischer/Pedersen in All England this year, DEN WS is not any good INA will win WS for sure, MS DEN is Favourite. So even without these circumstances I think INA would have won 4-1. PS.Indonesia Boleh!!!
And after Indonesia is done mopping the floor with Denmark-B; If the Adcocks and co. have a nice day at doubles, then all the Big Danes will be left with is a jar full of cookies. 3-2 England, unlikely but not improbable (The other im- word doesn't even warrants space anymore).
Perhaps the coaches and managers of DBF had planned, schemed this a long while back... Hence why the recent soar of progress and wins from the Mads, and another Danish pair Astrup,Rasmussen in preparation for the Sudirman Cup. They might've already thought about replacing Boe and Mogensen? There has to be a cause for an effect. DBF probably wanted this sponsorship, money a long while back and was disappointed as their players for breaking their promise of not signing individual sponsorship. It's difficult to imagine that DBF is innocent and completely unknowing of the situation. This type of practice and politics is probably happening everywhere ie. China, Malaysia. Sad this can happen to our sport.
As far as I know DBA decides who can go to events like WC and OG. I remember last years WC when DBA decided not to send some XD pair who was not on the national team and sent Kolding/Juhl instead despite the other pair had a higher World ranking.
I know it happens in India. Only reason BAI tolerates Jwala is because she is still the best nationally in her discipline. The day the association finds an able replacement, sh will be shunted for good.
Individuals do not dictate team selection in world events. Their board/association is their first line in the upper chain, who are themselves superceded by their NOC. They have a chance if their NOC forces DBA to field them for the Games.
that's a really interesting question. the first step to qualifying is to get high enough ranking. what if say BoMo went and became the only pair who are qualified for the Olympics. DBA has the full power to say they won't send BoMo but instead the 2nd pair. then BoMo would have done all the hard work and gave a free gift to the 2nd pair. it sounds like some sort of agreement should be made. best is not to burn any bridges.
INA WS have higher ranking than Danes' virtually unknown WS. Who is Dens WS? Without Juhl and Christina who you want to pair Kolding with? Without the 5 Dens, INA vs. DEN is likely 4-1.
I won't put 4-1 if all Dens players are good to go. Pedersen/Fischer is a tough match vs. Natsir/Tontowi. The result is likely 3-2.
Danisa is yes an Indonesian holding private company specializing in biscuits. However, there is no conspiracy here. The Sudirman Cup's group drawing occurred long after DBA signed up the team's sponsporship with Danisa.
