It was tight game. France XD should proud with it, they play better against 2 times runner up of Asian championship.

The line-up is already out, CHN v THA => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...DB73EE0-97F1-4387-A72F-52B49FBE4586&match=412

MD, Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng v Bodin Issara/Pakkawat Vilailak
WS, Wang Yihan v Busanan Ongbumrungpan
MS, Chen Long v Boonsak Ponsana
WD, Ma Jin/Tang Yuanting v Duanganong Aroonkesorn/Kunchala Voravichitchaikul
XD, Liu Cheng/Zhao Yunlei v Nipitphon Puangpuapech/Puttita Supajirakul

No Ratchanok Intanon in the list today, its' pretty much different with their line-up against GER yesterday. In CHN line-up, Cai Yun reunites with Fu Haifeng and surprising XD combo Liu Cheng/Zhao Yunlei.

    JPN v TPE line-up => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...DB73EE0-97F1-4387-A72F-52B49FBE4586&match=421

MD, Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa v Lee Sheng Mu/Tsai Chia Hsin
WS, Nozomi Okuhara v Tai Tzu Ying
MS, Kento Momota v Chou Tien Chen
WD, Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi v Hsieh Pei Chen/Wu Ti Jung
XD, Kenta Kazuno/Ayane Kurihara v Tseng Min Hao/Lai Chia Wen

The first three ties will be close contest, pretty tough match for both teams.

and do not count out the crucial call of service fault at the match point which was detrimental to the French pair  feel sorry for them

Wei Nan is pretty good if he is given enough time to make his shots. otherwise seems heavy and not very mobile.

Luan Jin looks very imposing not from his stature but his demeanor.

    Where's RI :(
    Yo we'll be treated with MJ/TYT :)
No ZN, I believe some extra rest because they might be planing to field him in both MD and XD events, maybe in the finals or SF
ZYL/LC surprising.. They could've given some extra restvto ZYL as well and it would've been wonderful to watch YY or WXL playing XD

Just as I suspected , CHN still make use of the services of their formal top pairing CY/FHF in team events.

Was very unexpected to see THA fielding Busanan instead of the in-form Intanon, but I just checked their H2H, 2-1 in favour of WYH but Busanan was the winner of their last encounter dumping WYH in straight sets.

Really interesting MS matchup, real excited for it. I suspect it's going to be one-sided but let's hope Boonsak plays well today.

Looks like both CHN and THA don't want to show all their cards at the group stage.

I think the Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng matchup is LYB's gift to them as a last hurrah in appreciation of all their contributions to Chinese badminton. I believe we won't see them as a pair anymore after this Sudirman Cup, today is probably their final farewell.

I suspect both LXR and IR want to avoid each other at the early stage. MJ/TYT is definitely solid. LC/ZYL is a surprise but should it work out really well,my guess is ZN might be freed to concentrate on MD with FHF for the Olympics.

I've the highest regard for Wei Nan as a mature player and believe he's becoming another impressive latebloomer just like his senior Hu Yun, and Sho Sasaki.

Wei Nan wins pretty convincingly. it is as if he doesn't even need to give his full effort either. at least he demeanor on court seems to indicate that.

I feel that it is just the opposite. ZN/ZYL is in a class of their own and definitely the pair for Rio as they have the highest chance to retain their OG Gold. On the contrary, I think ZN/FHF is a very risky choice given their inconsistency - not forgetting how they lost to INA's relatively new MD pairing but credits should be given to them for playing so well.

The THA team basically already accept their going home early, that their standing was decided on the match against GER. Unless Ratchanok Intanon is injured, can't see why they play Busanan Ongbumrungpan instead.
