R/16 big upset should be Li Xuerui and Matsutomo/Takahashi defeat, both top-seeds were sent packing early by Akane Yamaguchi and Lee SH/Shin SC. The other surprising outcome, both fourth seeds Srikanth Kidambi, Tai Tzu Ying also ended their campaign, stunned by the qualifier Ginting and Fanetri respectively. A positive result by home singles players to book 2 spots each for MS and WS.

Many surprises happen in MS discipline, five seeded players failed to go further, only three of top eight seed left. Strong favourite, Chen Long will take on Indian Kashyap Parupalli, both Jorgensen and Momota will find local test, the qualifier and promising talent, Jonatan Christie and Anthony Ginting. The underdog with fully supported by whole crowd will boost extra motivation and perform beyond expectation, Jorgensen and Momota must prepare mental strength to face both of them. One quarterfinal tie at bottom half will pit Kenichi Tago who displayed negative trend recently against the never give up Marc Zwiebler, both players were runner up here in 2014 and 2013 respectively.

With Carolina Marin and Li Xuerui ousted, on paper Saina Nehwal, Ratchanok Intanon and two Chinese WS will be the frontrunner for WS crown. Japanese teen sensation Yamaguchi will meet another Chinese hurdle, Wang YH to chase semifinal ticket while her compatriot the giant-killer Yui Hashimoto gets Maria Febe. Intriguing clash, Wang SX v Nehwal part two after AUS SS last week and home hopeful Fanetri who will oppose former world champion, Intanon.

The engaging four MD duels will entertain us tomorrow, defending champion Lee YD/Yoo YS will face same opponent again after AUS Open semifinal last week, Chai B/Hong W. 2015 All England final rematch, Boe/Mogensen v Fu HF/Zhang N and two home combos Ahsan/Setiawan and Wahyu Nayaka/Yusuf will up against Japanese #1 Endo/Hayakawa and reigning world champion Ko SH/Shin BC respectively.

Four Chinese WD at quarters affirm their supreme skill, Ma J/Tang YT, Tang JH/Tian Q, Yu Y/Zhong QX, Luo Ying/Luo Yu and they may create all China affairs at semifinal unless one of these four pairs could deny them, Lee SH/Shin SC, Muskens/Piek, Pedersen/Juhl and Maheswari/Polii.

All eight seeds fullfill the script, four Chinese pairs at last eight and 1 semifinal slot has been assured through Xu C/Ma J v Lu K/Huang YQ. Local star, Ahmad/Natsir who didn't perform well lately will try to bounce back and face the fast attacking Chinese youngster, Liu C/Bao YX. Zhang N/Zhao YL should be no problem to overcome Adcock/Adcock. The close tie will be projected between Fischer/Pedersen v Ko SH/Kim HN.

LIVE TV (court 1, 01.30pm local time) matches :
    1) Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii (INA) v Luo Ying/Luo Yu (CHN)
    2) Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir (INA) v Liu Cheng/Bao Yixin (CHN)
    3) Jonatan Christie (INA) v Jan O Jorgensen (DEN)
    4) Ratchanok Intanon (THA) v Lindaweni Fanetri (INA)
    5) Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa (JPN) v Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (INA)

I want to see at least Nitya/Greysia and Pedersen/Juhl advance to sf.
Tbh all matches in wd 2mrw are interesting.

Maria Febe has bigger chance to advance than Linda in ws.

All the best for Ina ms jr ;)

Never say die attitude and impossible is nothing..

Expect to see more entertaining and good battles tomorrow.

He is a big fan of Lindan and Srikanth. As these two disappointed him, what can we expect from him. He spoke frankly whatever he felt .;)

Even i am a big fan of these two players. But still i feel this tournament is full of excitements .

OK, thanks Lokesh for explaining... imo, but life often is full of surprises and unpredictable, and in order to be still able to enjoy it, one must also have better bigger picture, and bigger heart... many times things in life won't go on as one wishes... ;)

But true that the 2015 BCA Indonesia Open SS Premier is one of the largest badminton event on earth, and the organizer, Djarum Group, is quite committed in making it the best one or among the best ones!! In no way will the event be boring...it should be full of excitements! Just ask anyone who ever attend it.
