In India when two people from different provinces meet, we generally use Hindi (mainly) or English (only for TN/Kerala/Mizoram and Nagaland); what's the equivalent lingua franca in China??? Say someone from HK meeting someone from Beijing.

What happened with him? He committed a few service errors in this match. More than three If I'm not mistaken.

It appeared that the umpire telling Tago the challenges he has left and the score has distracted him slightly and he had to delay his serve. That's why he made the error. But that's just the last service error.

If there's so much infighting and differences as you said, then it would lead to disharmony and disunity in Team CHN, the last thing any Head Coach wants or should allow to happen. No matter who is appointed Chief Coach, his duty is to serve his/her charges to the best of their abilities without favoritism or unfair treatment of anyone. And all the players will have to do their part, be the best they can be, train hard,be willing to learn , and have the right attitude as well as get along with the coaches and fellow teammates. Only when the players prove themselves by their performances and results can the coaches justify their selection for high-level tournaments and major championships as their successes and failures will definitely reflect on and affect the coaches performance appraisal and career prospects.

In other words, whatever the coaches do and the selection criteria adopted have to be seen to be aboveboard, objective, impartial, fair and just, otherwise the consequences will be low morale, disgruntlement, and widespread disagreements and internal conflicts, absolutely counterproductive for everybody. If a player and his/her coach lacks mutual respect, basic trust, sufficient understanding and cooperation, how can they achieve anything together no matter how good the player or the coach? Their falling-out and open, perhaps ugly, confrontation is a matter of time to the detriment of both parties which may even affect others negatively.

Incidentally, from what I've gathered, the differences between Zhang Ning and Wang Shixian in the past have been amicably resolved leading to productive, fruitful outcomes as WSX herself had once acknowledged.
