INA hopeful Hanna Ramadini lost to hot fave Busanan Ongbumrungpan, 17-21 / 12-21. Ramadini led 11-6 at game 2, too bad after the interval her stamina declined drastically and produced many uncharacteristic errors.

I think that, most of all the bane of Indonesian players, stamina. Heard the couch instructions to always maintain speed which is near impossible without good stamina.

seems like CWF demolishing Arif all the way, no chance for Arif to trail blazing...

The same Arif from the men's team semifinals showed up today... couldn't get into the groove.

But well done to Chong Wei Feng in winning the first Gold of his career, and first Gold for Malaysian MS in 14 years... highly skilled player, hopefully this does his confidence a world of good! Still a lot of talent left in him...

Great job to the Malaysian coaches. I think the difference over the past few days was Morten Frost's in-game tactics.

A big lead in game 2 by Gideon/Sukamuljo couldn't force rubber games as they succumbed to senior compatriot Pratama/Suwardi, 12-21 / 22-24. Looks like SIS is the lucky ground for the gold medalist as they also topped the podium in SIN SS last April.

Jordan/Susanto delivered the gold medal for INA contingent in really high intense duel, def. Chan PS/Goh LY, 18-21 / 21-13 / 25-23. An entertaining final match, credit to both pairs :)

that's luck and bad line call. did anyone else notice the shuttle was out at 23-22 when MAS was leading? the linesman needs to get his eyes checked, with a prescription from Mathias Boe... !!!

Updates from my friends who managed to watch the whole match live.

In the highly contested men singles final, Chong Wei Feng won against arif. Arid injured his fingers yesterday and I thought he will not be playing today. Anyway congratulations to both players for entering the finals thus enabling us to see an all Malaysian finals. Congratulations to Chong Wei Feng for winning the gold medal today. He played better then arif.

In the highly contested women singles, busanan won against hana. It is clear cut throughout the match that busanan is very good. So congratulations to Thailand for maintaining the women singles gold medal today.

In the highly contested women doubles match today Amelia Alicia anscelly / soong fie Cho won against Vivian hoo / woon khe Wei today. Surprising to see the second seeded Malaysians won over the first seeded pair. Anyway both players played well today. Once again congratulations to Amelia Alicia anscelly / soong fie Cho for winning the gold medals today. Congratulations to both players for winning the match today hence we are able to watch an all Malaysian finals.

In the highly contested men doubles event today Ricky karanda / angga pratama won against Gideon / Markus. Congratulations to Indonesia for maintaining the men doubles gold medal. Throughout the match Ricky / Angga played better. Anyway congratulations to both players for entering the finals thus enable all of us to watch an all Indonesian final. Indonesia really have good men doubles.

however it is indeed sad to say that the mixed doubles event is marred by refereeing errors and also bad line calls. Sad to say that such errors still happen till the finals. Bad line calls have been noted till the finals of the match. Praveen / Jordan won against Chan peng soon / goh Liu Ying. However, bad line calls towards the caused Malaysia the gold medals. Without those refereeing errors and bad line calls Malaysia could have won the gold medals. However, sad to say refereeing errors and bad line calls have been a norm in badminton tournaments and hope this issue can be settled soon. Hawkeye should be important. Anyway thanks to both players for giving us such an entertaining match today. Both players played very well that it was so difficult to determine who will win. In the end it is the lucky person who wins the match. Anyway congratulations to Jordan / Praveen for winning the gold medal today.

I thought the refereeing was good... the line judging on the other hand was, today and throughout the tournament, questionable. They really should get better qualified line judges and not aunty / uncle volunteers.

I concur .... in fact a let was played in the Women's Singles match.

Irrespective of the bad line judging, I would say the Malaysian XD's defeat was mostly caused by Chan Peng Soon's inability to serve short. Everyone on tour knows now that all he does are flicks, even Debby was well prepared for that.

Come to think of it, both male players were not in good form and were carried largely by their female partners.

Yes. Almost every point that Chan served to Praveen was a goner, as it immediately put the M'sian team in defence.

Having said that... Praveen Jordan is an amazingly powerful player. Thunderous smashes and great perception. Would love to see him playing MD... And Debby Susanto's easy on the eyes too!
