Yeah, that's a great point. Whether a player deserved it or not, the fact is, they either have it or they don't.
Well he does have nicer footwork IMO. He's a lot more smoother on court so he doesn't have to belly flop as much but that's arguable still. Its still beautiful to watch him move on court though
Both LD and LCW have superb footwork and are both way ahead of the pack in terms of flowing and efficient movement. I think overall LCW has been more explosive for longer (in terms of years), whereas LD conserves his energy more (especially lately) but can still flick a switch and kill the rally off if he sees fit.
Actually LCW never used to be explosive until after 2008 when he realized he had to learn in order to keep up with LD. He used to move at a steady pace and just retrieve a lot before that.
You're right actually, I was just thinking about 2008 and onwards. LD seemed to slow down, whilst LCW sped up. Either way LD came on top each time.
Yeah I know. Isn't that something? I think it's because the style of movement was natural to Lin Dan whereas LCW actually had to go and learn how to be explosive I think it's largely mental and has to do with their personality where LD has more of a killer instinct and LCW is more of a gentleman (not to mean badly toward any of them)
