such an important day tomorrow. .so many interesting match ups.
really looking forward to some of these singles encounters -

chen long vs tanongsak saensomboonsuk (the defending champion is overwhelming favourite but their last two matches went down the wire, chen long barely managed to get through then, interestingly one of those last two matches were played here in indonesian open itself)

viktor axelsen vs HS prannoy (huge potential in both of them, viktor leads the head to head 2-0 but it will be interesting to see how match fit prannoy is after his injury lay off)

li xuerui vs pv sindhu (the one i am really looking forward to, sindhu is not playing her best badminton as of yet but she is a fighter and she can give big trouble to li if li give her slightest of the opening)

wang yihan vs bae yeon ju (the last time these two met it was the korean who won in three hard games, wang yihan's second round match suggests that she is still a bit rusty, probability is 50/50 here)

tai tzu ying vs michelle li (its all squared up in the head to head, li is very much capable of troubling tai)

Round of 16 will be filled by many mouth watering clashes as the intensity escalates from here, the biggest upset so far in this tournament is defending champion Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baek Cheol lost straight-sets to Malaysian pair Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong.

First seed Chen Long will be tested by the aggressive Thai #1 Tanongsak, Danish young star has Indian test Prannoy to chase last eight berth. Another shining talent Momota gets Vietnamese vast experienced Nguyen TM and last but not least at top half of draw we'll see the battle of Zulkiffli v Wei Nan, both of them denied Chou TC v Sugiarto script. Three strong faves at bottom half draw, Jorgensen, Lin D and Lee CW are predicted to pass their opponent, Son WH who little bit off-form lately, Danish #3 Vittinghus and Chinese 8th seed Wang ZM respectively. One remaining tie, IND fave Srikanth will take on HKG resilient player Hu Yun. Host INA has no representative in this category, both Sugiarto and Rumbaka bite the dust, a disappointment for home fans.

Two JPN WS suffers early exit, only one remaining Takahashi who will challenge Indian jewel Nehwal. Not many upsets happen here, all favourites fullfill their seeding except Okuhara, Mitani and Febe. Three Chinese ladies have tough foes tomorrow, Li XR v Sindhu, Wang SX v Busanan and Wang YH v Bae YJ. Defending champion Marin has relatively easy test, Pai YP. Close contest will be expected from these two ties, Sung JH v Porntip, Michelle Li v Tai TY.

Three JPN MD will take on home pairs, Endo/Hayakawa v Nayaka/Yusuf, Kazuno/Yamada v Ahsan/Setiawan and Kamura/Sonoda v Pratama/Suwardi. KOR has secured 1 last eight berth in this discipline but their reigning world champion was sent packing by Goh VS/Lim KW, the MAS giant killer will meet former All England winner XL/Qiu ZH. Chinese ace Fu/Zhang will cross sword with Danish pair, Astrup/Rasmussen while second seed Boe/Mogensen finds Japanese combo Hashimoto/Hirata. Some seeded pairs were shown the exit door, Chai/Hong (4th), Ko SH/Shin BC (7th), Lee SM/Tsai CH (8th) and Ivanov/Sozonov (11th).

CHN and JPN rule WD last sixteen with 4 representatives each, followed by KOR with 3 pairs. These three nations have strong tradition in this category. Interesting to wait whether DEN, IND, MAS, NED and host INA pair could break their domination. Local hope Maheswari/Polii will face Matsuo/Naito and if they pass them, most likely the top seed Matsutomo/Takahashi would be their next opponent. Reigning and former world champion have chance to meet each other at quarterfinal, Tian Q/Zhao YL v Wang XL/Yu Y.

Four home XD pairs have challenging road to go further in this prestigious event, Ahmad/Natsir will up against Chan PS/Goh LY who dumped AUS SS winner Reginald Lee CH/Chau HW earlier, Jordan/Susanto will find their nemwsis Fischer/Pedersen, Subaktiar/Widjaja v the in-form Ko SH/Kim HN and Widianto/Dili will oppose China #3 Liu C/Bao YX. Top two seeds, Zhang/Zhao and Xu/Ma on paper have no problem to overcome their obstacles tomorrow, Fuchs/Michels and TPE pair Liao MC/Chen HH respectively.

Sadly tomorrow INA XD will be the likely casualties leaving Natsir/Tontowi left standing. I am excited however with 3 Home MD pairs are still in it. I am sure they will defeat the JPN MD pairs tomorrow soundly.

Ratchanok Intanon vs Fanetri will be interesting i think. Intanon is very very strong... But who knows.. With upsets like today? I do think Maheswari-Polli will pass but other JPN and CHN player will go through. Worried about Ahsan-Hendra, i don't know today was a sign of champions, or they were just too slow somehow. They have to shake it off. And after seeing how kamura-sonoda plays..pratama-suwardi will really have a upstream battle.

MS is to be expected i think... So Wan Ho-Jorgensen will be a good match, but seeing how calm jorgensen now...

XD.. Now this is interesting. Let's see maybe holland pair can upset the chinese? (wishes...)

I predict Zulkiffli to run all over Wei Nan.And if somehow the impossible happens,WZM gets past LCW.Then i would love to see the face of Morten Frost.

Actually, I'm surprised there are still so many pairs left. Usually they are out by now. Anyway, wouldn't be surprised if every single Malaysian lost today, including LCW.

LXR, WSX and WYH should have no problem advancing to the next round though WYH may find the going a bit tough....
