Congratulations to Indonesia players. They finally made it and nick it. Yes they did it. Wow I felt so happy for the Indonesians. Indonesia performance was definitely the best in this tournament. They won 3 gold medals in this tournament from XD, WD, and WS. They win 2 silver medals from the XD and MD department. The most memorable one would be from the XD department whereby they won the gold and silver medal. Congratulations once again. The second best performance comes from Malaysia. Malaysia won 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals. Who would have thought that the Malaysian would dominate the MS department by winning all the medals in the MS department. Certainly a tough fight between Iskandar and Soo Teck Zhi today but finally Iskandar won the gold medal. Congratulations to the Malaysian players too.

Here is the link of a short video clip of Loh Kean Yew lost in the second round of the tournament against an Indonesian young and lower ranked player than him.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoCID2oC-Z4

Loh Kean Yew himself admitted that he made lots of mistakes. I felt sad as I listened to his explanation. He won the first set convincingly. He was also leading in the second set of the tournament. But he admitted that he made a lot of mistakes in the second set which gives his opponent more confidence. Then finally in the third set he ran out of has and stamina and couldn't sustain his energy to play. Thus he lose the match.

I always have high hopes for this player Loh Kean Yew and his brother Loh Kean Hean because both are very good badminton players and have won lots of medals in those good olden days when both of them were still playing in Penang, Malaysia. However, ever since they received the offers to study in Singapore sports school and started to represent Singapore, their performance has been very poor and way under par. I just hope that both Loh Kean Yew and Loh Kean Hean can continue to improve their games while playing for Singapore.

I think you are prejudiced against SIN because you are a 'foreigner' with a dubious agenda! You have tried to put SIN in a bad light on the FT issue many times before.

When the two Loh brothers were students playing in MAS, you mean they were better than they are now playing for SIN? Have you forgotten that LKY even managed to beat NTM and entered the semis in the SEA Games ? Are you blind to the fact that LKH partnered Terry Hee to win this very tournament against very strong MDs when the reputed MAS duo of KKK and TBH couldn't survive the earlier rounds, losing to the INA pair that our very own unseeded Singapore pair beat in the finals. In the process they even beat 6th seeded Darren Isaac Devadass and Vountus Indra Mawan of MAS, who must be better than LKH when he was in Malaysia. On the other hand, this must be a gigantic leap for LKH and I hope our young pair will continue their partnership and gain more international exposure. So please don't distort the facts and paint a bad picture of Singapore badminton. Be reasonable and give credit when it is due.[TABLE]
