First encounter of Lin Dan v Lee Chong Wei in 2015

Day-2 tournament will offer the much anticipated classic showdown, Lee CW v Lin D, last meeting between these two big stars was Incheon AG individual semifinal almost a year ago. Another top gun Chen L has his younger teammate Tian HW for quarterfinal slot while local hero Momota will up against INA #1 Sugiarto. One remaining tie at upper half of draw, Indonesian qualifier Mustofa who knocked out Zwiebler earlier against the evergreen veteran Hu Yun. Both DEN and IND have assured 1 last eight berth each through Axelsen v Vittinghus and Kashyap v Srikanth. 6th seed Chou TC will take on Rumbaka and two average players facing each other, Lee DK v Prannoy.

Seven home WS in second round, who will survive? Yamaguchi disposed recent WC bronze medalist Sung JH at opening round will oppose US player Zhang BW. Okuhara has former world champion Intanon, Takahashi and Mitani will challenge heavyweight rivals, Marin and Nehwal respectively. And another ties who involve Japanese WS, Wang SX v Mine and Li XR v Imabeppu. Former winner Wang YH displayed convincing style to dispose Michelle Li earlier and is predicted to through against Pai YP. Dubai SS Final champion Tai TY has tricky test tomorrow, Korean #2 Bae YJ.

The strong contenders have straight-sets winning, defending champion Lee YD/Yoo YS will up against China combo Cai/Lu whilst their arch-rival Ahsan/Setiawan has towering Russian pair Ivanov/Sozonov as next opponent. Boe/Mogesen will be tested by Kim GJ/Kim SR, Fu HF/Zhang N has home pair Hashimoto/Hirata. Some projected close ties will pit Kamura/Sonoda v Ko SH/Shin BC, Conrad/Kolding v Pratama/Suwardi, Astrup/Rasmussen v Goh VS/Tan WK.

Japan, Korea have 1 WD representative each at quarters also China as well, last year champion Matsutomo/Takahashi is expected to continue their good run here along with another favourite at top-half, Pedersen/Juhl and Maheswari/Polii. Only 1 seeded pair got early exit, Ma J/Tang YT lost to Go AR/Yoo HW but CHN still have four WD who occupy bottom half of draw.

Four best XD pairs passed first round and most likely second round as well. Zhang/Zhao v Chan PS/Goh LY, Ahmad/Natsir v TPE pair Liao MC/Chen HH, Fischer/Pedersen v Lee YD/Lee SH, Xu C/Ma J v Alexander/Oktaviani. Xu/Ma was stretched into the limit by Korean underdog Yoo YS/Chang YN in thrilling three games at R/32. The potential close tie will see Ko SH/Kim HN v Jordan/Susanto tomorrow.

WHAT??????agree with LDK being average but really Prannoy????On his day, this bull can give any player a very painful day and is regarded very highly by coach Gopichand. He is a good with potential to become a very good player.Searching for peak form and supreme fitness at the moment.if any doubt, you can ask Jan O Jorgensen about his qualities.:)

Six Japan WS anyway, not seven. But six WS in round 16 is just awesome. If this young talents can be consistent, we will see at least 4 Japanese ladies dominating the top 10 WS rank in the next 1 or 2 years.

Prannoy has a world ranking of #12. If he's average, then everyone pretty much sucks

Japanese XD retired due to Matsutomo injury as this WD top-seed concedes walkover.

And he took first game 21-16 against two times world champion, it would be huge upset if he can knock out the in-form Chen Long.
