The Moment of Recognition Or Curse for Sun Yu

.
For Sun Yu to face the two times World Champion, the WR#2, seeded #2 and the most touted ascending star in the baddy world, Carolina Marin, so early in the very first round of this SSP, can be the long awaited moment of truth, moment of recognition and reaffirmation that after all she's still able to deal with the highly praised star today, that she still possesses her value... for their last match was done long ago, in November 2014.

Or, simply a confirmation that now there's a clear line separating the two. And just another curse of bad draw for her.

For Marin, this encounter in the European soil is more conducive, a more suitable climate and better support at court from the spectators, a more feel home atmosphere, and at an occasion where her play is heading toward her peak.

Nonetheless, I deem the draw in Denmark SSP is much better for Sun Yu than in the many previous occasions, whereas she had to face any of her senior compatriots prematurely in the first or second round! Here her real hurdle is the R1; if she makes it then she has easier path to go.

I second that!!
This tourney has perfect lightings as well as proficient tech equips!!
The spectators are also good (less than Ina though) also the timings suits well for a school going kid :)

The draw doesn't seems to ring chimes for Indian players as well...
1)Kor open hero AJ will start from qualies and unfortunately cross swords with master Dan in R1 itself.. So bye bye Den for him...
2) HSP tricky R1 but considering his attacking style should win it but then will battle against Mr calm and composed KM so bye bye Den for him as well
3) for Mr choker PK the draw will prove to be a nightmare as his first opp is none other than LCW
4) only hopes KS in MS will face initial resistance from TS.. If he succeeds R1 and R2(i beleive so)KM will wait him in QF so bye bye Den for the last man standing as well.. Of course there are 40% chances KS emerge victorious if it happens I don't see JOJ stopping him hence 2nd ever SSP final will welcome him

As for SN draw is pretty good after all she is #1 seeded (very rare in high end tourneys) SJH will be her QF opponent who seems to be in form and comprehensively improved if she manages to sail safely she will battle it out against WSX who seems to become her nemesis lately in SF.. Fingers crossed
PVS doesn't excites even this time... She is expected to crash out and say bye to Den in R2 itself against TTY

Acording to thira in the Ratchanok thread, her manager simply forgot to enter her.

It's compulsory tournament for top 10 WR to take part in all 5 BWF SS Premieres, such a reckless manager and unfortunate condition for Intanon :(

Thanks for posting the link.

So the draws were done by software but the finishing touches were applied by BWF officials for each of the five categories - that tells you the human interference involved and how random or manipulated the drawing process, for better or worse.

Perhaps the same practice is carried out in some, if not all, of the Superseries tournaments ? I don't know, but occasionally the outcome of the draws is/was too much of a coincidence not to suspect anything untoward. Personally, I'm not against some human interference to avoid the worst-case scenario or clearly undesirable outcome but I hope there are certain limits or procedures in place to prevent outright abuse motivated by private, selfish agendas.

i found the draw ceremony for 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympics for Mixed Doubles.

It was uploaded by BWF.

I think BWF should do this more often. why not broadcast more draw ceremonies live on youtube or livestream!!!
