High-tense actions surge Odense, local star Jorgensen is back

The fourth Premiere BWF World Superseries will rolling on fairytale land, birthplace of Danish famous author H.C. Andersen. All badminton supremes come to Denmark, show-off their finesse in 6 days ahead, collecting lucrative ranking point to secure Rio spot next summer and Dubai Finale in December. China swept all 5 titles in 2014 edition, a rare feat is hard to remake this time, considering their dismal WS performance and inconsistent MD, China only won 1 title each at 8 concluded Superseries so far in this year through Sun Yu (SIN Open) and Chai B/Hong W (IND Open).

Defending champion Chen Long alongside with home hopeful Jan O Jorgensen who back in action after missed last two SS due to stomach infection, China twice Olympic Champion Lin Dan and Malaysian hero Lee Chong Wei are leading contenders in this category. A steep road for China ace Chen L who had bagged 4 SS titles in this season to defend his title here as barring any upsets he’s slated to meet either Kashyap or Lee CW at quarterfinal and Axelsen or Lin D at semifinal. Two stunning youngsters who enhance their standard of play currently, 21 years old Viktor Axelsen and Kento Momota will be potential darkhorses to upset the favourites. Another two Superseries winner, Chou Tien Chen and Srikanth Kidambi who grouped at lower-half of draw should grab the opportunity to recharge here after a string of early defeats lately.
R/32 highlights : Parupalli Kashyap (IND) v Lee Chong Wei (MAS), Wang Zhengming (CHN) v Jan O Jorgensen (DEN)

Twice world champion Carolina Marin no doubt is strongest candidate to clinch another SS title in this year after All England, Malaysia and Australia Open. Her closest rival should be former winner and world #1 Saina Nehwal as they meet three times in 2015. Defending champion Li Xuerui is still struggling a lot to bring back her winning way recently, Wang Shixian, one of few players who could defeat near-perfect Marin currently is expected to pass two previous rounds before set up meeting with either Li XR or Japan young sensation Yamaguchi at last eight. Top-seeded Marin and last year runner-up Wang Yihan have tough early test, Sun Yu and Bae Yeon Ju respectively.
R/32 highlights : Bae Yeon Ju (KOR) v Wang Yihan (CHN), Sun Yu (CHN) v Carolina Marin (ESP)

Korean MD topped podium in last four Superseries event and the winning streak may continue or stop here, Lee YD/Yoo YS who nailed back to back SS title in East Asia region last month, JPN & KOR has challenging draw from very first round, as they will up against local MD Conrad/Kolding then former world champion Ko SH/Shin BC and Liu XL/Qiu ZH at quarterfinal before take on their last year final opponent, Fu HF/Zhang N. A relatively smooth first round for recent World Champion Ahsan/Setiawan before gets possibly Japanese rival at next two rounds, energetic duo Kamura/Sonorda and Endo/Hayakawa. It’s different case for home experienced combo, Boe/Mogensen will face tricky opening round against MAS #1 Goh VS/Tan WK.
R/32 highlights : Lee YD/Yoo YS (KOR) v Conrad/Kolding (DEN), Kim GJ/Kim SR (KOR) v Hashimoto/Hirata (JPN) v Goh VS/Tan WK (MAS) v Boe/Mogensen (DEN),

No less of 6 pairs, China powerful WD will regain their supremacy after created surprising setback in Korea three weeks ago. This DEN Open may be the last hurrah for defending champion Wang XL/Yu Y as we will not see their name in upcoming two SS including at their home SS Premier upcoming November. The newest combination, Huang YQ/Tang JH, reunion pair Bao YX/Zhong QX, second seed Luo Ying/Luo Yu, Ma J/Tang YT will join the high profile reigning world and Olympic champion Tian Q/Zhao YL. Top-ranked Japanese pair, Matsutomo/Takahashi has difficult job to repeat their runner-up finished last year, they will take on Go AR/Yoo HW and may face another Korean combo at last sixteen. Current KOR SS winner Maheswari/Polii will start campaign against the qualifier, most likely Chang YN/Lee SH.
R/32 highlights : Matsutomo/Takahashi (JPN) v Go AR/Yoo HW (KOR), Polii/Maheswari (INA) v Chang YN/Lee SH (KOR), Kakiiwa/Maeda (JPN) v Gutta/Ponnappa (IND), Tang JH/Huang YQ (CHN) v Pedersen/Juhl (DEN), Luo Y/Luo Y (CHN) v Muskens/Piek (NED)

A rematch of current Japan SS final may happen at last eight here, the invincible Zhang/Zhao v local favourite Fischer/Pedersen while 2014 winner Xu C/Ma J who didn’t produce excellent form lately has tough opening round foe, the Aussie Open champion Lee/Chau. Second seed Ahmad/Natsir should have no problem to clear preliminary rounds hurdle before meet Lu K/Huang YQ at quarterfinal. If the scenario is going smoothly, they will face either Liu/Bao or English married couple Chris and Gabrielle Adcock in last four.
R/32 highlights : Hayakawa/Matsutomo (JPN), Shin BC/Chae YJ (KOR), Xu C/Ma J (CHN) v Reginald Lee CH/Chau HW (HKG), Ko SH/Kim HN (KOR) v Chan PS/Goh LY (MAS)

Latest withdrawals according to ts.com last updated : Takuma Ueda (JPN), Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk (THA), Zhang Beiwen (USA), Wahyu Nayaka/Ade Yusuf (INA), Ekaterina Bolotova/Evgeniya Kosetskaya (RUS).

The tournament will begin tomorrow, started from qualifying round (09.00am local time, 4 courts) and XD R/32 will be played later on evening (07.00pm, except four matches which involve the qualifiers) : https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...410764-3F53-4BE8-9FCF-51A92DC74D74&d=20151013

Sun Yu vs Carolina Marin should be interesting.

Sun Yu still has a 2-0 head-to-head lead over Marin.

Just check ts.com, WD defending champion Wang XL/Yu Y also pulled out. In MS category, Jayaram and Lee DK have been promoted into main draw also home WS Kjaersfeldt as well.

Ajay vs Srikanth in the first round itself? Who the hell make these kind of draws? BWF is a joke of an organisation.

I hope Ajay wins. He's in a form of his life. Seeing he's in the last half, he might make finals.

There are certain rules on the Draw, depending on seeding and those not seeded. Whether one is up against a seeded or higher ranked player depends on "the luck of the draw".

It is not unusual to see players from the same country being drawn against each other in the first round.

The better player wins and proceeds to the next round. It is an opportunity for the "weaker" player to create an upset.

Whatever, at least the same country player can advance and not being knocked out by a player from another country.

I'd rather have Ajay play against LCW than his fellow countryman in the first round. He was unseeded to begin with, and it wouldn't have made any difference whether he was playing in first half or second half. This is a total farce.

The Draw rules are transparent and fair to every player. Some may get a good draw, others may get a bad one.

Those lower ranked than their opponents may get a chance to create an upset.

If Ajay played a non-countryman and lost, he can't progress anymore.

If Srikanth also lost to a player from another country, it will then be worse, for none of them is able to advance to the next round.

But if Ajay or Srikanth fought each other and one of them managed to win, there is still a chance for the winner to progress further.

Look at the brighter side.

Where is Jonatan and Ihsan? They are 37 & 38th ranked respectively ahead of Tago at #39. I think they will have a better outing in this SS than Tago.

No. Never. Liu Cheng is like Xu Chen. He is only good in XD. Ma Jin should concentrate in WD only if she wishes to be included in the Olympic.

They are at Taipei this week where they probably have better chance to get more points at a cheaper costs.
