2 pairs per country if both are in top 8 not qualifying of top 8.

You are not getting the point still? Only one korean pair in top 8 now and another korean pair is in 9th position. When japanese pair at 8th position goes out(2 per nation policy), that 8th position will be occupied by korean pair not indian pair because they have 600 points more than indian pair. Got it?

no because korea already have taken one place because india has no other pairs in top 8 and korea do in order to qualify 2 pairs in dubai superseries finals both pairs must be in top 8 not in 8th qualificcation spot .no matter they have high points or low points as per bwf qualification rules as in olympics if 2 pairs have to qualify both must be in top 8 of rankings otherwise next pair from other nation take on their spot ah ra go and yoo hae won can only qualify if their teammates dont go.

Oh god. You got to be kidding me.

Korean pair has every right to participate in Dubai SSFinals if they are in 8th position no matter whether they have one more pair in top 8 already, as per the rule. So, india will be in 9th position only. You have to ask Jwala to play well. Because if they have had won their 1st round match @ hongkong open, they would have qualified without any doubt.

Hmm, Lin Dan's entry in the Brasil open next week is very interesting:

If LD decided to win the HK Open, there is barely enough time for him to reach Rio. For fun, I checked Expedia for flights leaving after the HK open finished on Sunday and for flights requiring the shortest flight time. The fastest flight required more than 25 hours travel time (including one stop).

Take into account it would take LD probably 1.5 hours to reach HK International Airport (assuming he brought his luggage with him to HK Open and had no intention to return to the hotel). Then you have to consider what flights are available for him to catch because of course, there won't be a flight available for him right away so he has to wait some time for his flight.

In a nutshell, time is very tight if he needed to arrive in Rio by Monday. He also needs to adjust to the timezone as well.

I watched the video of LD's match against Ng Ka Long. Try as a might, I don't see that LD deliberately lost - he just played poorly. Whether LD tried 100% is another matter - we've seen LD play a rally style post 2012 Olympics. Don't forget LD won with a rally style at the 2013 WC - his rally style even made LCW cramp up by the 3rd set.

Seems like overall, LD is slower after his Asia Championship win. I don't think LD deliberately tried to lose at the WC this year to JoJ - it's just that LD is slower now, not as sharp/accurate as before, not as consistent, and probably not as fit. Some of this is probably because he isn't training as hard. And some might have to do with his age. Having said that, no matter what his age is, he can probably train harder but I suspect he is not.

Ng Ka Long too easy. Anyway, another Long will win this tournament, so no point for LD anyway.

Good to see Ahsan/Setiawan get one back over the China pair. And no surprise that Ginting beat Momota. Momota is over-rated - I'm convinced he'll never win a major. However, Indonesia's youngsters are very talented, and are pretty much the "hope" for the next era beyond LD and CL.

Goh/Tan beat Ko/Shin again, proving it wasn't a fluke at the world champs? But KKK/TBH being their usual selves - nothing's really changed since their return. And Chong Wei Feng should probably retire.

This is an interesting interpretation that was not immediately obvious but I don't think it will happen like this.

I actually agree with krishan's interpretation of the qualification rules to be correct.

I must confess I haven't looked up the exact wording of the qualification rules but reading that bolded and underlined part again, I would have to agree.

Bro, your prediction inaccurate, Goh V-Shem/Tan Wee Kiong had advanced to QF and maybe can progress further. They have breakthrough and in good form.

I do not see much hope in KKK/TBH already. Let alone to win a medal in Olympic.

As for Chong Wei Feng, he can forget about Olympic.

BAM is over-reliant on LCW to deliver medal in olympic.
