Take into account it would take LD probably 1.5 hours to reach HK International Airport (assuming he brought his luggage with him to HK Open and had no intention to return to the hotel). Then you have to consider what flights are available for him to catch because of course, there won't be a flight available for him right away so he has to wait some time for his flight. In a nutshell, time is very tight if he needed to arrive in Rio by Monday. He also needs to adjust to the timezone as well.
I watched the video of LD's match against Ng Ka Long. Try as a might, I don't see that LD deliberately lost - he just played poorly. Whether LD tried 100% is another matter - we've seen LD play a rally style post 2012 Olympics. Don't forget LD won with a rally style at the 2013 WC - his rally style even made LCW cramp up by the 3rd set. Seems like overall, LD is slower after his Asia Championship win. I don't think LD deliberately tried to lose at the WC this year to JoJ - it's just that LD is slower now, not as sharp/accurate as before, not as consistent, and probably not as fit. Some of this is probably because he isn't training as hard. And some might have to do with his age. Having said that, no matter what his age is, he can probably train harder but I suspect he is not.
