Not much but the string bed is stiff enough and I'm very much experienced enough with strings to know right now it shouldn't be an issue.
it's usually only the vertical center 2 strings, sometimes just one of them. Or perhaps I'm just a player with OCD to make sure they're perfectly aligned after each rally. I find myself having to adjust them some 2-3 times a game, especially with the intermediate players. I never had problems with Yonex BG65, even at 25lbs...
I see. Well that always happens to me no matter what string I use if I start going all out full power smashing everything..tbh BG65 isn't a very good example at lest for me since I look on that string with very little regard ever since I discovered VS800.
my stringer did mention to me that the critical number is 28lbs. I will try at 28 lbs and see how good it is.
strung a couple of my rackets at 28lbs and yeah the centre strings do move quite abit especially on slice shots.
amazing string. the sound upon hitting shuttle is perfect and it generate much power. it looks great on my avp, both orange color
I'm gonna try the Zymax 62 with 24lbs tension for a change... when I get some new rackets next month.
What would someone coming from nanogy98 think about this string. Looks nice and cheaper than nanogy98 so I'm looking around. If i do switich over should I stay at the same tension, currently play 11kg, or increase because of thinner diameter?
Normally you'd want to *decrease* tension because of thinner diameter. But ZM62 Fire is really 0.65mm or so. So you can keep the same tension.
Haha. Does that mean I'm dead on the inside? I string my ZM62F @ 30/32 on my BRS12s. I'm going to string one racquet at 28/30 to see if I like it better.
Sorry, I don't know how to test for that. What I use is "does this feel good"-a-meter. My shoulder agrees with using ZM62F 30/32.
So got my ZM 62 fire reel a couple weeks ago and strung a couple of Victor MX 90s and an MX JJS to 28.5 x 30.5 lbs. I have to say in comparison the ZM 62 had slightly less power than the ZM 66 fire power. However i felt that i have slightly better control with this slightly thinner gauge. and also after around 4 hours of playing, whilst the 66 Fire Power experienced quite a dramatic tension drop, i think possibly anything between 2-3lbs.... (felt like it anyway!), the 62 Fire perhaps had around 1 lbs of tension drop. Hence the 0.5 increase in tension ... from 28lbs to 28.5. might also be worth noting that i had my wise tension head set to the standard 10% prestretch during tensioning. I normally use nanogy 98 or BG 80 strung at 28lbs. and i would say ZM 62s repulsion is comparable to the yonex strings, and but power is possibly slightly above although slightly less than the 66s. still with the 50% deal from goode sport id be very happy to switch to it as my go to string for the next few seasons. On a side note... if anybody else uses the MX 90..... its a bitch to string, the shared grommet holes are the worst i have every experienced!
I am using ZM62 for last 2 years, and during last 6 month I went from 25 to 28. As my stock of 62 is close to 0 now, it was time to finally try 62F (orange). My set up is Tk Onigiri and ZM 62 and 62F at 27/28. First impression was not really good, as I was missing power. But after 1,5hrs of MS, I was quite impressed. What I can comment now is that 62F has a much softer feeling at it is generally more user friendly string. I can understand that some lovers of 62 will not like 62F and this is imo connected with player´s level. As my level is not so high I was happy with 62F at the end especially because: Clears: much easier and 0,5-1,0 m longer with 62F and Backhands: the same as for clears!!!! Smash: weaker with 62F, not by much Blocks and net play: better with 62, but this aspect can change as you get to use to new string 62F moves a lot even at 28 imo. It moves as much as 62 at 25! So this is what I can comment. I do play more XD or MD, where clears and backhands are not so important and what you want, is to have o good smash, but so far not bad.
