definitely looks good and the mechanism sounds better and faster than WISE. the only issue is how long does it last and how to get warranty if things goes wrong.
The machine looks very solid. Especially the gripper - not really beautiful - but robust. With the "Auto height adjustment" indeed an extra bonus in this price segment. And also the sound is by far more acceptable than the wise. i have watched the videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMAQKhJyqik https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTMwl9pi1KQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtosttyDS0U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNbZaPrgMJk i am not sure, but seems that this machine has an accuracy issue. Correct me if i am wrong.
the auto raise of the tensioner is purely mechanical design. as opposed to the Adidas/Alpha/Poorex which is controlled by the microcontroller. it is quite clever but will take more work to maintain in the long term (lubing it to make sure it still works) the faster speed compared to the WISE is definitely awesome. the linear travel seems to be shorter than the WISE. I wonder if that's going to be a problem. of course, if someone send me a sample to test/review, I will be happy to oblige.
I would second on the notion about the warranty. But usually what concerns me of after a set of number of jobs the tension starts to become inaccurate then other problems would arise. I assure 95% of Korea's parts are in much better shape than the US materials. But with a new product I am just uncertain. Couple questions are: What the common manufacturers problems that effects the product function? Is any additional features like the stepping pad to start the machine? As you know, stringers operate on fast turnover rates when dealing with high client volume. So time, efficiency, and customer service would convince me this product is natural cared for. Would like to buy it, but waiting on other customers responce if this product is geared for quick turnover rates for stringing businesses.
Interesting as I'm considering a WISE tension head at the moment. It's a shame it can only do badminton racquets (i.e. only up to 45lb) but as most of my stringing is badminton, it's not a huge drawback. Where can you get one from and how much is shipping to UK?
This may just be me, but it seems such a waste to put a tensioner like that next to a... I was going to say "turntable", but it's not - without fixed clamps. Looks like the pullerhead is a "riser", as well. But the price is very, very good. Probably explains the above, in fact. Do we know what kind of puller it uses? Set screw, ball screw? From the videos it sounds much like a WISE...
Nice to see that it happens someting on the market for bolt-on electronic tensionheads. I belive Wise need some competition to keep on improve their products. I'm very pleased with my Wise, but not that impressed...especially the gripperhead feels very unstable in sideways. How many tensionheads is out on the market? All I know is: Wise D8188 T1888
Very true. To string a Prince racket (Tennis) with O-Ports is nearly impossible without the Boomerang-Tool. If you use the turntable lock (or your hips to hold the turntable) the Wise makes very ugly sounds...
Start your crosses from the middle . I've seen horror storries of the Wise just breaking down when string O ports rackets.
Last link is first version. You can see the gripper is different than now. So we invest more for the second one. Regarding the accuracy when set to constant pull, the tension is constantly changing. We thought about +1lbs higher than set tension but we left it as it is now. However, when tested with tension meter, it is very accurate.
Thank you for compliment. We want to have genuine reviewer to criticize the Acurit. At the moment, we only have sample, once ready, we will send you for review. Please send me email address.
Acurit is made for individual users who wants to string their rackets with care and accurate. In Korea, many shops string badminton rackets in about 10mins(they usually knit strings before stringing, so it is faster because you just need to pull, I don't know the word for it). So they don't use pre-stretch nor constant pull because of time. For put pedal, we can add when Acurit 2096 is launched. Acurit is very simple mechanic. And use only 1 pcb, size of energy bar. Considering Wise2086 use 3pcb and 1 pcb is almost size of mini motherboard. Mechanic is better if it is used with less parts. Less parts, less problems and easy to fix or replace. Even it cause problem, cost of repair is very cheap. And I am sure it will not cause problem unless dropped or thrown on the ground.
I am sorry I don't understand the term "pullerhead". Is it refer to the bar ballers in the gripper? Acurit motor is worm motor which is used in Car. As we know, noise in Car is bad. So they wrap motors with plastic to cut the noise. So Acurit motor sound is much less than Wise. Wise motor has no case.
