Venue : GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium Gachibowli, Hyderabad-IND Knock-out stage DRAW : http://badmintonasia.org/wp-content...s-2016-Knock-Out-Stage-Draw-18th-February.pdf IND time : http://www.worldtimezone.com/time/wtzresult.php?CiID=6453&forma=Find Time QUARTERFINAL Order of Play (11.30am local time, 4 court) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...A7006D-7CB5-4080-9058-430AACDD0962&d=20160219 Today's quarterfinal will be separated by two sessions (11.30am & 04.30pm), Men's team strong favourite Japan will take on Chinese Taipei while Women's team top-seed China is favoured to overcome Indonesia, both ties will be sceduled on evening session. The roster of first session quarterfinalists are already out : - Women's team : MAS v THA => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...1A7006D-7CB5-4080-9058-430AACDD0962&match=179 - Women's team : TPE v JPN => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...1A7006D-7CB5-4080-9058-430AACDD0962&match=180 - Men's team : IND v MAS => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...1A7006D-7CB5-4080-9058-430AACDD0962&match=128 - Men's team : HKG v INA => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...1A7006D-7CB5-4080-9058-430AACDD0962&match=129 Looking at the line-up, JPN and THA women's team are big favourites to progress into last four, host IND who surprised Chinese Men's team yesterday will face tricky Malaysian squad while INA Men's team has slight advantage to eliminate HKG, Hu Yun and Angus Ng KL may steal point here.
My prediction: 3-0 or 3-1 for Thailand women's team. I wish for 3-2 either way (but both MAS WD need to pull up their socks and not get injured). 3-0 for Japan women, should be very comfortable. 3-1 for India Men. 3-1 or 3-2 for INA men.
it is better to put 0-3 for both Mas men and women teams, no chance to get a single point from opponents...
MAS is lucky to get drawn against arguably the weakest group winners in both Men's and Women's events (for the Men's, it's arguable who the weakest group winner is). Womens' team : THA dominates WS1 and WS2, so MAS must win all the other 3. Not impossible but daunting. Men's team: IND MS1 overwhelms MAS, MAS MS3 is weak; so MAS must must all the other 3. Again, not impossible but even harder than their lady counterparts. Overall, I agree with your prediction on MAS matches, though. And the other 2 as well.
Minnows India vs Powerhouse Malaysia B Team India are an unpredictable team. Srikanth has a history of losing to lower ranked players. If he has an off day MAS can take MS1. Indian Doubles are highly inconsistent, they can play good or very poor. If MAS grabs MD1 and MD2 MAS can topple India. MS2 is 50-50, Iskandar has a great opportunity to surprise Ajay Jayaram. MS3 Prannoy is inconsistent, he can also have an off day. On paper India should win but MAS can spring a surprise!
^^ Powerhouse and Malaysia? Minnows and India? I chuckled reading this...Should be a comfortable 3-1 win for our boys. Let's go ASP!!!!(Ajay-Srikanth-Prannoy)
Don't forget Srikanth losing to Ginting Anthony, Iskandar and many others. Prannoy losing to Yuxiang H, Shi Yuqi among others. I don't want to list the doubles player losses!
Anyone else supporting Hong Kong???? Where is WEI NAN in the team lineup?????? No way,he can't be dropped.....
Guys, I found a live stream: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCttvp4dcKdlXue7fkwSskig for the knockout stage.
India are sending their first team vs Malaysia second/backup team: MS1: Usually Srikanth performed extremely well at his home country, I don't see inconsistent ZZ have any fair chance. MS2: 50%:50%, Iskandar can create magic in Malaysia but he need to work harder to beat Ajay in Hyderabad. MS3: No chance for Teck Zhi, Prannoy is a much better player. MD1 & MD2: Yes, Both young Malaysian pairs can beat Indian pairs but again the venue is Hyderabad therefore with lesser experience can they beat their opponents and their strong crowds? Today Prediction: Malaysia 1 - 3 India If Malaysia are sending their first team with LCW, KKK/TBH, GVS/TWK, they can turn the table to beat India 3 - 1.
Cool, it's on TV today. I like this format, as it brings out the best in a player. Hoping for IND to crush their opponents soundly.
Both Malaysia Men's and Women's team are lucky once again, they avoided seeded no.1 & no.2 Team in QF.
Indonesia in HUGE! Trouble The Ever so reliable Ahsan/Setiawan lost G1 24-26...Chin/Chun caught fire???
