Can someone who knows Japanese translate this website for me please. I want to know more about this new model caliber vf, va, vs and their differences. Is the technology just gimmicks or somewhat useful. Greatly appreciated. http://shuttle-house.com/page_top_JAPANESE/MAIL_ORDER/Meker_Catalog/mizuno-newitem/caliber-tour.php
So vs has the highest power and very light? Also why vs has different frame than the rest? What's the purpose?
I only skimmed the information and my Japanese is not very good. VF - Attack model, focus on smashing (head heavy, 3UG5) VA - Attack model, focus on speed (mid-head heavy, 4UG5) VS - All-rounder model (balanced, slightly head heavy, 4UG5) VS has the common/traditional isometric/boxy frame that most racquets have nowadays. It has a big sweet spot compared to the VF VA. And easier to drive/push. It's a 4U weight, lighter than the VS and takes 27lbs tension. The VF and VA have a more compact frame and is slightly more oval as a consequence. It has a smaller sweet spot and requires more skill to use, but the trade-off is that with a compact frame, the racquet cuts through the air faster. VF is head heavy, and looks like it has a reinforced frame because it is listed for a max of 30lbs tension. VA is somewhat head heavy falling between VF and VS in balance. It's a 4U making it lighter than the VF, and takes 27lbs max tension. As for shaft stiffness, it's not mentioned anywhere. The 6.4mm shaft diameter makes me think it'll be stiff to extra stiff, the literature alludes to a "trampoline" effect of sorts, but it doesn't make it clear if it's from the "cross flexible" frame thing or the shaft being flexible.
Thank you so much for your translation. =) whats the V shape effect do? and what does the diagram at the very bottom say? Much appreciated =)
That's just the tapering in the shaft. Where the frame and shaft meet (T-joint), the shaft is thicker then it tapers down to 6.4mm. I don't know how significant the tapering is, but a 6.4mm diameter shaft is quite small compared to most racquets.
How was your Chinese New year everyone ? Hope all had as much fun as i did, at least on the food intake anyway. Time to get back to the courts, and I will be posting a new racket introduction today. Pictures first ! The hexagon shaped frame in the CARBOSONIC series reduces the weight, and at the same time without compromising the dexterity and strength. The intrepid design increases the aerodynamics of the racket, ensuing the ultimate head speed and smash factor. Key features - Super lightweight - Hexagon frame - High Tension frame - Slim shaft Weight : 78g 5UG5 Balance : 290mm Flex : Flexible Tension : 28 lbs ( MAX ) Constructed using Japanese Ultra Carbon ( 30 tonne ), ending the full setup with a 3D carbon cap. Now, where are my shuttlecocks ...?
Hi Pizzaboi, do you know the best place to find the Mizuno badminton collection in Hong Kong? Thanks!
If you're not adverse to buying online there's Shuttle House, they're reputable. http://shuttle-house.com/new-cgi/product_list-en.php?ko=23&mk=MIZUNO
Yea i do aware this site, bought from them too! Beside rackets, I looking to try other mizuno products too. So it would be more convenient to buy locally.
Hello Do you have something similar to MX80 4U ? (Extra stiff, avery stable aero frame and slightly HH) Thank you
Guess shuttlehouse is still a easier bet. Been to Queensway and all they have are the super old models or the entry level metal frame types. my friend got his Mizunos in Thailand
I have no idea where in HongKong that sells Mizuno range, my apologies ! JPX 8.3 ? refer to the earlier introduction pictures.. aero hexagram frame , 295mm BP , stiff . The current range dont have extra stiff option.
Announcement will be made this week Kavaris ! We are in the midst of racking them in the shops. clue, queensway, amk with more to be finalised.
Hi Pizzaboi, I'm from California, USA. Is there any Mizuno dealer near by that I can order from? and I am looking for a Mizuno racket that is head-light or even balanced for fast flat-exchange, can you give me some suggestions please, thank you.
Ah thanks for the clarification. Hope they have something that's head heavy/slight head heavy and flexible in their racket range.
