Now that LD didn't want to play, CL must continue.

Both INA and the home court favorite XD will take these matches.

Or now let's see what she has for WYH in the kitty! I hope she wins it, but if I try not to be biased I see WYH winning :(

Tang Yuanting/Yu Yang turned the match around to overcome the new WR1 WD pair from JPN, not bad.

Out of the last 7 matches against Lin Dan, JOJ leads 4-3.

Even GC was shocked when told by Steen that WYH has a H2H shutout of 12-0 over Intanon. This must be a record between two world-class top 10 players in badminton.

I think he started hitting a lot of outs after his strings broke in the second game. That's where it seemed like he gave up. If LD gave it his all today and still lost to JOJ (which he probably believes the chances are good, since the drift and service judge seem to act against him), then he will have a mental disadvantage if they were to meet in Rio. If LD threw away the match, then he won't have that mental disadvantage because he can justify the loss by a lack of effort, rather than a lack of skill. It also prevents JOJ from building the mental advantage because JOJ won't believe that he is able to beat LD when he is trying. All he did was beat LD while LD was sandbagging.

So the overall H2H is 4-8 for Lin Dan.
50 % winning for JOJ is probably the highest winning quote of all players in H2H against Lin Dan. e.g. LCW is 10-25 for Lin Dan which is a quote of 40%.

I wonder if Lin Dan deliberately lost his match against Jon so he doesnt have to face Lee Chong Wei because lee beat his last couple of times and Lin Dan doesn't want to give him more confidence before the Olympics. Probably not true as it seems a long windy way but just saying...

I don't really like that behaviour tbh even if you're trying to place a certain spot in seedlings for rio, I still think you should try your best? I hope he gets fined for that behaviour cause he just threw that game away.. not really behaviour I expected from someone of his level..idk :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I think Lin Dan still has nightmares about choking that Malaysia Open final in 2006 against LCW. He was leading 20-13 in the third set, and lost it 21-23. That still remains the greatest comeback in badminton history (across all disciplines) since the points system changed, and arguably of all time.

Yeah, it sucks for the fans who paid tickets to watch in person.
