LD's killer instinct... 3 smashes to close out 3 pts in the end.

Lin Dan looks tired as Ihsan fought back, the Chinese ace clinches the match narrowly, 21-19.

Once again, Lin Dan pushes his luck too far and gets away with it, letting several shots go even though he sees it coming , but in the end winning the points that mattered.

Lin Dan proving once again why he is the Greatest of All Time....No one is mentally tougher than him....Well played,Ihsan

But it is obvious that Lin Dan is dog-tired after playing so many tournaments....So,I advise him to calm down and lose the next match. No need to prove that you are GOAT anymore....Thomas Cup and Olympics matters.

This match is far better than last Sunday's final. More intensity. CHN coaches looked worried but relieved at the end.
In the end, Ihsan's inexperience costs him the match.

Please advise him otherwise. Please let us mere mortal watch the rare potential semifinal clash between GOAT vs. LCW.

Will there be a Lin Dan Lee Chong Wei match? Lee Chong Wei looks like in good form while Lin Dan looks tired.

Nope, Sorry but he is too tired.

Lifting Thomas Cup next month is more important than this meaningless tournament.

His next opponent is Tien Minh Nguyen who is another marathon runner but unfortunately Lin Dan has run out of fuel.

    No way

Lin Dan is human not robot... At one point in this match, he couldn't tap home a simple kill.

So, it will be Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii vs Vivian Hoo Kah Mun/Woon Khe Wei for a place in the QF. An "easier" opponent for Nitya/Greysia definitely, compared to the formidable CHN pair. They should progress to the SF, where the Luo sisters will await them for a place in the Final.

No worry for Tang Yuanting/Yu Yang though as they will surely qualify as CHN's no 1 WD pair for the Rio Olympics. Li Yongbo will have a hard time deciding between the unstable Tian Qiang/Zhao Yunlei or the Luo sisters for the second spot.

ZZ took the 1st game against Wei Nan. I think he (ZZ) will retire later.

He is obviously drained after last Sunday's high quality match with Chen Long. In this match with Mustofa, he's just taking it easy, playing at 70%, only occasionally stepping up when necessary. I doubt he's keen to play Lee CW here when he feels he's at a physical disadvantage. Yeah, Thomas Cup is much more important, he can't afford to risk anything here, that's why he is basically rallying, seldom attacking , defence down a couple of notches even, you can say he's toying around. Tomorrow's opponent, Nguyen Tien Minh, won't let him get away playing like that.

And again Chai Biao/Hong Wei couldn't find a way to beat Kamura/Sonoda

    Their H2H become 0-4

Comparing MS to WS......I don't entertain sharapova vs djokovic comparisons

This is Lin Dan's fifth straight tournament in five weeks.

How old is Intanon, 22 ? Didn't she skip the CHN Masters last week ? OTOH,the 32-yr-old Lin Dan is playing his 5th consecutive tournament in 5 weeks, and we're talking about MS.

come to think of it, with kamura/sonoda as 2nd md pair, endo/hayakawa as 1st pair, and momota as 1st ms, japan do stand a chance of defending their thomas cup.

Don't you remember, Haters have taken the responsibility of providing more rounded picture of Lin Dan these days.

Don't be surprised to see Lin Dan compared to Luo sisters next...I think they have also played as many tournament.
