    THOMAS Cup
    As predicted, IND-THA duel presented tight battle with Thailand edged past team India 3-2. The fourth tie, second men's doubles was crucial match for both team and determine their campaign here. Last match who didn't have impact for Thailand to winning their opening match, world junior bronze medalist Adulrach Namkul forced Sourabh Verma into the limit that ended to 21-19 at deciding game.

    Defending champion Japan was surprised by team French, Thomas Rouxel and Careme/Labar fulfilled the expectation to push more favoured Sho Sasaki and Endo/Hayakawa fought hard. Then Takuma Ueda who gave single digit score to his Kamura/Sonoda and Riichi Takeshita completed 5-0 scoreline.

    Hong Kong squad delivered tough fighting for the Indonesians but it's not enough to steal point for former champion despite four ties went to deuce. England suprised Malaysia, their second men's doubles stunned former All England Champion Koo KK/Tan BH in rubber games, 4-1 for Lee Chong Wei and co.

    Other results, two frontrunners host China also Korea as well blanked Mexico and Germany respectively, 5-0.

    UBER Cup

    Group C favourite Thailand Uber team won over Hong Kong, 4-1. Cheung Ngan Yi stole the point to defeat higher-ranked opponent Busanan Ongbumrungpan in straight-sets. It's a good start for team INA who defeated BUL with perfect scoreline despite first singles Maria Febe had thrilling match against Zetchiri also Awanda/Istirani were forced to work extra hard by Stoeva sisters.

    The underdog Malaysia gave a scare to title-holder China, particularly to doubles category. Vivian Hoo/Woon KW blew big chance as they almost upset the mighty Chinese when led 18-11 at decider then Tang YT/Yu Y woke up and made superb comeback to lock them at 21-18. The Olympic Champion Tian Q/Zhao YL also dropped second set before stamped authority in final game.

    As expected, Denmark lost first tie to Spanish team, Carolina Marin defeated Line Kjaersfeldt in rubber games also close contest in next two ties for second and third women's singles. But the European champion is too tough in doubles category, 4-1 in favour to Denmark.

    An easy opening match for both KOR and TPE to trounce USA and MRI respectively.

    Nothing much interesting on this day.
    Perhaps of most interest being Uber Cup INA v HKG.
    Second could be Thomas Cup MAS v GER.
    But the rest really of no interest whatsoever.

    Afternoon session (01.30pm) line-up :

    THOMAS Cup
    - MAS v GER (court 2) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...98FF39E5-3CE5-4D78-A9E6-4199026B3C5D&match=47
    Malaysia fields the best line-up against Germany including the veteran Koo KK/Tan BH who suffered unexpected defeat to England's Briggs/Wolfenden last night.

    It should be 5-0 for team Chinese Taipei, all of their leading players will capitalize this opening tie for court adaptation.

    UBER Cup
    - INA v HKG (court 1) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...8FF39E5-3CE5-4D78-A9E6-4199026B3C5D&match=126

    Germany is gonna get completely destroyed. They couldn't have picked a better line up to ensure that.

    Thomas Cup
    - MAS v GER : No Marc Zwiebler, seems GER will save the best squad for the last group match versus ENG.
    - TPE v NZL : TPE will have no problem to leading 5-0

    The morning session ties most likely all 5-0. Like I said, nothing interesting at all.
    Thomas Cup MAS v GER had the potential to be slightly interesting, but looking at the lineup, will be another whitewash.

    So, only Uber Cup INA vs HKG holds our interest today.
