I don't know what's going on in his mind, got to ask him. Maybe he really felt a little discomfort and didn't want to risk injury, esp as an Olympian he would certainly give priority to preserving himself for the Olympics just two months away. Let's wait for him to say something in the post-match interview.

Anybody watched HYX vs VA! What happened to him, retired at this critical season??
Although I think HYX could've won the match anyway

And he wins. His playing style is simple but deadly, if he can keep doing it for 3 games.

Yeah, he comes here well-armed with his stockpile of precision-guided missiles, firing left, right and center. But it can be physically demanding on his not-so-young body, that's why sometimes he is not quite up to it but today he's all charged up and raring to go.

Incidentally, Wei Nan is in LCW's half, slated to meet in the semifinals should they progress that far; worth looking forward to it.

Mr Rocket, Wei Nan, the late bloomer, is absolutely no joke. Next round, either Rajiv or Derek's turn to be in his crosshair.

Why are there so many walkovers/retired here?

Don't they wanna gobble the big cash in this Premier? :)

    Viktor AXELSEN [4] 16-21 21-16 8-4 Retired
KIM Gi Jung [4]/KIM Sa Rang
    CHEN Long [1]
    LUO Ying [7]/LUO Yu
    Lisa Ayu KUSUMASTUTI/Vanadia PRANASA

Anyhow it's good opportunity for the lesser ones to win big here :p:D

The conspiracy theory is that CL and LD are trying to drop to WR 3 & 4 so that they will be seeded in different halves of the Olympic tournament... though personally, I'd say LD is just taking it easy like he has been doing most of the year-- he cares more about "world championships" like the Thomas Cup and Olympics.

The ceiling over Court 2 has just fallen after Marc Zweibler and Iskandar Zainuddin's 1st game....; someone remind me-- the last time the ceiling fell was in the Malaysia Open or something, right?

Then just imagine if the ceiling ever hit the head or other body part of a player or anyone else... what a nightmare :confused:

Yes I was also thinking so but someone earlier in this thread explained that it was impossible to fix the ranking like that in so short time.
