i think it is entirely possible to have no gold for China. now already 2 down, and then MD is barely 50%. singles are still in good standing but none of them are a slam dunk and the competition is stronger than 4 years ago. this has happened before, in 1992, where a dominating Chinese team from the late 80s came up with zero gold in 1992, that prompted a total reorg of the whole team and old coaches kicked out and then LYB put into place. and slowly the team grew stronger and stronger for 20 years. and then now it is in decline, again. life is just a cycle.
