Nozomi has a better record against Marin.

    so I support Nozomi. :)

actually, if we look at the h2h record,

    Nozomi 5-0 Akane
    Nozomi 3-1 PVS
    Nozomi 4-2 Marin

seems like a clear path to me. :)

One of my favourite players. If she is a non-CHN, she would be my favourite player of all time.

painful to see the two countrywomen has to cross path so early... if it had been a semi final at least there is chance both might get a medal

One thing that surprises me - why are 2 players from the same country in the same half of the draw? (In fact, in the same quarter)

To suppress one strong country such as China or Korea to win too many medals in the same category

I am not a China fan too but it is Wang Yi Han as I said before it is hard to hate her. The annoying nail biter is laughing now while praying for her boyfriend, Chen Long.

Yes, she was. I liked that Wang Yihan even put her arm around Sindhu as they did the customary handshake over the net after the match. Too often, we see only light and flimsy handshakes. I hate to admit I was rooting for Sindhu, not because I disliked WYH, but because I wanted to see a variety of nations advance in this Olympics badminton competition. Nevertheless, I would love it if Malaysia won the mixed doubles, men's doubles and men's singles gold.

Is Okuhara trying to wear AY down or why does she play high clears and lifts all the time when it's not working?

Funny that it doesn't happen to China and Korea, but to Indonesia and Japan instead.

Yihan actually looks a lot like my aunt.
Of course, I am Indian(bengali) and my aunt does not have that prominent epicanthic eye fold.
But otherwise, the resemblance is striking.
This is another reason why I like Yihan so much.
