I still feel like LD was relatively in control of the pace. He didn't seem to be burning himself out as much as Srikanth. Many rallies looked like LD was just moving around slightly and getting Srikanth to run all over the court. Maybe the Indian just burned out by the 3rd game and that's why we saw him playing poorly and eventually losing.
I saw the matches of both LCW and Lin Dan. LCW will toast Lin Dan if today's action is any indication. Despite LCW being a year elder to LD, it is LD who appears like the ageing uncle. There was almost no offense today from LD, almost none... The speed of LCW today was far higher than LD ever showed in this match.
that's the thing with LD. it is so hard to tell what he is doing. we know what he was capable of, but is he still capable of doing that? is he just toying around? or is this all he got? so hard to tell. and he will lose for no reason and then suddenly wins when he likes to. he has become an enigma.
Son Wan Ho's game is so mechanical whereas Chen Long is playing a controlled game a la Lin Dan but with sudden powerful attacks of dead accuracy unlike Lin Dan who tended to rally too much.
i was thinking through out the match, " Lin Dan you are an old man , Go away. This is a young man's game. " But no, old dog new tricks. experience and consistency won today. LCW vs LD is really tasty though. LD always has something up his sleeve against LCW.
Right, ever since Lin Dan came back after a long hiatus post-LOG'12, he remains an enigma, nobody knows what he's thinking or up to until the last minute.
