Correct. Also it's rather 2 incorrect challenges per game, correct challenges doesn't count

Yes, two unsuccessful challenges per game.

He is so irritating that i switch to different stream.... he have no business holding the mic commenting. Somebody should ban him from the commentator box. i think he also commenting in table tennis, no less irritating.

SWH has one of the best backhands in the MS.

SWH has to win, otherwise this would be their worst Olympics campaign.

LD plays a proactive defensive game when under pressure. Has been doing that since ages. Since his defense is very good he can wait for opportunities, anticipate on the net and feed off mistakes of his opponents.
You could see it on his face that he was under tremendous pressure from the start of the third set itself. By declaring in words and actions that this Olympics is his last major tournament and target, he has put himself in a precarious position, mentally.
A player who can hold his nerve and crack LD`s defence will win against him. IMHO, JoJ could ve done that. So could Axelsen.

SWH to change tack, more nets and drop shots, fewer lifts and clears.

If he was toying around, it was a big toying, for he came up to lazor thin margin of loosing.

Rather, in game 1, I started to think LD could beat LCW. Largely because while he was not offensive, his technique, net shots, consistency was superb. And he was leading by like 10 points. Anyone who knows LD will concur that if LD is 10 points ahead, he won't bring his game.

But, then his pace didn't change AT ALL in game 2. And by the end of game 2, and in game 3 his consistency in shots and finesse was also gone. (In game 1 on more than one occasion he dived multiple times successfully. It seemed at that time that no smash can break LD defense, but in game 2, his defense against smashes, and half smashes basically broke down.)

This match was won by LD purely on the basis of his mental strength and toughness. He was equalled, or even exceeded by Srikanth. But in the end Srikanth couldn't hold it.

One last point, Malaysia already has 2 players in finals. This is a record performance. They seem to have come pretty well prepared for this one. And LCW is their star. Everything seems set for LCW to finally have his victory over LD in an Olympics.

Actually, according to my insider, LD should be on top of his physical games. In the physical tests of Chinese training camp, his results is even better than CL. And I don't see any physical issues in his game to SK, what he lacked in that game is any effective attacking.

A bit too predictable though. Tends to play to the net too often

It's good that Chen Long is covering his backhand well, not easily caught and better variation.

Chen Long should learn some hold and flick, more deception,be less predictable, and have a wider repertoire of shots to keep the opponent guessing.
