Can someone tell me why in the hell they play semifinal match , on olympics in 8.30 AM local time. 8.30 man.... Isnt that like ... retarded ? You didnt even wake up and you must play semi final match... not to mention breakfast, warming up etc... whats up with that ? Is there any logical exaplanation ?
If a brain surgeon can start his very important job at 6 or 7 am, then it's not unreasonable to expect a professional athlete to just about manage to pull themselves together for an 0830h start.
To me, it all depends on whether the person standing opposite LCW today is Lin Dan or Super Dan, if you know what I mean. Admittedly, at the group stage and the QFs, Lin Dan hasn't been impressive and even gave us a scare in his match with Srikanth. But today, his opponent is none other than his longtime rival and friend, LCW, as such we can definitely expect neither side to give an inch on the world's grandest stage. Honestly, I don't expect the quality of the match to be of the highest order of magnitude compared with their past epic battles; after all, they are both off their prime at past 30 years of age, but in terms of the momentous occasion, the excitement and thrills the match is likely to generate we, badminton fans all over the world, ought to feel fortunate and count our blessings that these two great titans are still around to offer us such a wonderful treat at the most prestigious of badminton events for perhaps one last and final time. I think for the majority watching on TV, the Internet or at the venue, the outcome of the encounter matters less than that we're going to witness yet another of their historic Lin - Lee Dream Match. Let us savour and cherish it while it lasts. At the end of it, let us salute and give them a standing ovation.
