About 4 weeks ago - I had to wait for someone to bring it over in the luggage (saves taxes...). Eric had to order it directly from Victor back then since he also didn't have any 3Us on stock.
3U and 4U in Canada. I just got my 3UG5s yesterday (all meausurements without string and no plastic wrap). They are on back order since mine came in the 2nd shipment. 1) 87.8g, 292.1mm 2) 88.2g, 300.04mm 3) 88.0g, 298.45mm I strung the first 2 with BG-65 at 25 x 27.5 (2 piece Top Down). I strung the 3rd for myself with Gosen R4X110 at 25 x 27.5. I'll let you know what i think in comparison to MXJJS (3U) - primary, JS10 (4U), JS YYS (3U), TK9000 (3U)
JS12 3U reporting ready to kick some butt: Strung with LN1 @27.5 lbs. and one RKEP G10 on top of the original grip, I get the following wet specs: Total weight: 98.1 g Head weight: 43.1 g Balance point: 297 mm So in fact is has quite a fair bit more weight in the head than I have expected. For comparison, my JS10s have a head weight at just a little above 40 g, same goes for my Panda Power Titan. I'll see how the JS12 feels on court on Thursday.
1st impression: Got 3 hours of MD play last night from racket #3 (3UG5 with Gosen). Great racket for doubles play and unfortunately had not time to test it out in singles (though i don't expect it to perform to my liking and style of play for singles). In all ways this racket is better than the YYS (3UG5 same Gosen string and tension). Quicker, faster, can generate more power. I think part of it is due to the thinner shaft, smaller head and head frame design. When compared to my 4U JS10 (Bg-80 & 25 x 27.5) I find the JS12 less stiff, more power and a bit slower. I find the JS12 more all rounded. I wish i had a 3U JS10 to compare against since that would be a more accurate comparison. When compared to a TK9000, less power, faster and less stiff. When compared to my beloved JJS, slightly less power, faster, less stiff. I will need to do more testing...but for now as you can see from my Buy/Sell thread the JS12 has surpassed many of the rackets I had in my bag. I still consider the JJS my primary racket and still rules for me since i can use it for singles, doubles and mixed. However, the JS12 seems to be a great racket solely for doubles as i get older in age =P
May I ask where in Canada you purchased your rackets? I am looking for a 4UG5 one but seems like I can only find 3U at places that have stock.
Local price is about the same as RKEP, but if I purchase from overseas I also have to factor in shipping time, possible import tax, having a soft cloth bag instead of a full racket cover and also no warranty.
In Ontario, the stores to contact are Canuck badminton, j zone, JJ sport and probably Lees. In BC: yumo.ca and Noah's badminton. I know the racket is limited supply at the moment so you probably have to ask ur retailer to put an order for u. I ordered mine directly directly through victor via sponsorship as a coach.
