Interesting how Fu Haifeng but not Cai Yun was considered one of the main rivals. Hoping that there will be videos of LYD in the future playing the Indonesia, India and China leagues!!

She's not with Samsung anymore now iirc. Too lazy to dig up more recent pics to identify the team atm

Correct. She coached with Samsung for a short time after her first kid was born but left that team, too. When she joined the Gimcheon City Hall team last year, it was as a player. Gimcheon is one of the few pro teams that has both a women's and men's team so she has played mixed with Shin Baek Cheol and Ko Sung Hyun there, as well as playing women's doubles with Jang Ye Na. When she played in the Purple League with Han Sang Hoon, they were coming from different teams, though. I believe he was still with Samsung, although he has since moved to the MG Saemaeul team. In other words, it is not impossible for Lee Hyo Jung to play in a league again with Lee Yong Dae or either of her other former partners - Shin and Han - who are no longer on the national team.

He also mentioned that Fu and Setiawan had, like Lee, changed partners and they stayed at the top for the same years as Lee Yong Dae and in that sense he says they are the same generation. Makes sense. When Fu and Cai reached the top, it was 2 years before Jung and Lee but Cai really had the veteran role that Jung Jae Sung had in his own partnership. Kido and Setiawan were the same age but Setiawan stayed on top after changing partners and Kido ceased to be a rival for the top pairs for the most part. In any case, his answer is that those two are the players he will remember the most. He wasn't just referring to 'main rivals' in his answer.

Did anyone notice how Lee Yong Dae's listed height changed? He's listed as 176 cm now

    http://bwfbadminton.com/player/52774/lee-yong-dae

He used to be listed as 180 cm. Do players just get remeasured occasionally or is this just a random error?

I don't think they get remeasured, just re-surveyed. As you'll notice, that one is especially bad because there are two pieces of incorrect information. 5'8" is less than 173cm so the conversion doesn't even work. His Rio profile still says 180cm and it went up after that terrible BWF one.

Recent exhibition game between KKK and SBC vs LYD and KSR. So this is what they do when they retire... looks fun!

They all look like they're enjoying it, especially KKK with his no look shots.

I respect his decision to retire, ultimately it's his choice.
    But, he's gonna be missed.

KKK is so funny. I love when the pros fool around in these exhibition matches.

Interesting to know. But still I stand by my comments. No pressure and no expectations to live up to. He plays far less tense.

I don't know... he smashed quite a few times into the net and flubbed a few simple blocks...

To be human is to err. We can't all be perfect all the time

And tbh. I'd rather watch him fluff a few shots and continue to have fun playing the game.
