Sry..28 to 30 ..bcoz it already has much power...all u want is control.....but the durability will become worse
26, no reason to change. Soumyadeep the trampoline effect is a bit of a misconception. Lower tension makes it easier to use more of the string, but doesn't necessarily increase the power because the string takes longer to return to its original shape.
I still have a doubt sir..... If I string(bgAS) at 15 lbs.... What r d advantages as well as disadvantages wid respect to power, control, durability and all?
You'll probably have no control, power will be less than 22lbs, and it'll probably snap because the strings are gonna move way too much.
What most sites tell you is that more tension is less power, and more control. But its also true of the opposite. Too little tension is less power. How can that be true? Simple - there is a peak, best tension for each individual player. Think of this - if you have loose strings like a shoe lace, would you get any power? No, because the strings take too much energy out of the shuttle by twisting and getting tangled. Also on the opposite end, you know high tensions mean no power because it's like using a wooden bat and the strings can't bounce so can't add power to the shuttle. That means somewhere halfway is where you get the best power. For everyone it's different, but for most players who can smash and clear, 20-24lbs is where the peak power is. The faster your swing speed is, the higher your peak power tension is, due to the amount of time the shuttle is in contact with the strings. So for a professional, their peak power might be 28lbs, and a 20lb racquet will give them weaker smashes. For a beginner, a 20lb racquet will give more power than 15lbs normally, or because they swing so slowly and inconsistently it doesn't actually matter.
This is reasonably true for the range that is printed on racquet frames. You will never see a Yonex racquet with a stringing tension suggested as low as 15lbs. Most Yonex racquets are suggested strung 18-28lbe these days. It's not true when you consider extremes like 15lbs, or even 5 lbs for example. You can choose not to believe us and get it strung yourself - like you say, why not experiment? We're telling you that you'll probably be disappointed in the power and won't want to leave the string on even if it lasted 5 years.
Thanks sir for ur valuable opinion otherwise I would have strung it at 15 and would have later got a heart attack.....thank u so much...and sir, I was never disbelieving u ...I was just clearing my doubts as I'm relatively a new player as compared to u all....so I was just asking much questions.... But ur answers have really helped me.... Lastly sir, wid ur experience, can u suggest me d appropriate tension wid maximum power for bgAS.....
And can u suggest me some badminton strings wid power and repulsion as its priorities??d best of them......cost isn't a hindrance
Sometimes I look at other people's endless patience and get almost overwhelmed by it. @DarkHiatus & @Charlie-SWUK - you have earned my full respect!
He said stick with BGAS at 22-24lbs... Secondly repulsion isn't the same as power, it's even on the Yonex chart. You can try it yourself because it's difficult to explain.
