Saina Nehwal in Final! She is playing well in patches like a top 20 player. Has some work to do before she plays like a top 5 player.

YPY's form degraded significantly, she has way past her prime it seems! I remember watching her playing and giving some top players run for their money even after LOG including SN and CM
She used dive all over and never say giveup at any rally whatsoever but today she was a pale shadow of a top50 player.

A little deceptive push or drop was enough to steal pts at will for SN and if she opted that round the head cross court smash which weren't even smashes by SN's standards turned out to be outright winners!
Also, the drift in the stadium is horrendous, I mean on few occasions SN couldn't believe her eyes!
Hope to see her back in full form in AE or Ind GPG

Lee Hyun Il, 36 years of age, born 17 April 1980, I salute you again and again.

The 5th Heavenly King, in my opinion, as I've said before.

WD, Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai (THA) v Poon Lok Yan/Tse Ying Suet (HKG)
    H-2-H : 0-0 / WR : 13 v 115

Third GP Gold final for Thailand combination after thwarted by Chae/Kim and Chen/Jia in INA Masters and Bitburger Open respectively. Poon/Tse bagged 2012 JPN Superseries title, the biggest achievement so far for this HKG pair then Poon had terrible knee injury in Macau Open 2015 that dashed her dream to compete in Rio OG. Equal chance for both pairs as they had trouble to pass semifinal stage, played long duration match to eliminate the unheralded TPE and home pairs.

MS, Angus Ng Ka Long (HKG) v Lee Hyun Il (KOR)
    H-2-H : 0-3 / WR : 9 v 18
An ideal final, two strongest contenders will face off this afternoon. Recent HKG Superseries champion Angus Ng Ka Long fullfills his top seeding position. He had pretty comfortable way en route to last stage, beat almost all Indonesian opponents except second round tie, Ukrainian Artem Pochtarov. Ng KL downed INA young trio who's much expected to revive Indonesian glory in men's singles discipline, only Jonatan Christie delivered hard times for current world number nine as Ihsan and Anthony Ginting lost in two straight-sets. On the opposite draw, the evergreen 36 years old Lee Hyun Il books another final berth smoothly and he's more favoured to retain 2015 title based on head to head statistics. The left-handed Lee outmaneuvered all his younger rivals with smart tactical play, showing his class as former world top ten shuttler, amazing performance at his age.

XD, Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Jemie Lai (MAS) v Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing (MAS)
    H-2-H : 0-0 / WR : 92 v 9
All Malaysian finals despite their leading pair Chan/Goh pulled out of this tournament, Tan/Lai is hot favourite to snatch first title in new season, better than last year runner-up position. The good result for home fans that Goh/Shevon begin to show promising prospect, it's smart move by MAS coach team that Goh Soon Huat who didn't exhibit notable improvement in singles category then switch to double player. Playing three tournaments, this new pair pocketed Scottish GP and MAS IC and stormed into first ever GP Gold final here, defeated reigning Olympic Champion Tontowi Ahmad, paired up with Gloria Widjaja this time.

MD, Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin (MAS) v Berry Angriawan/Hardianto (INA)
    H-2-H : 0-0 / WR : 60 v -
Home young duo continue impressive run in their GP Gold debut, Goh/Izzuddin eliminated experienced combination Gunawan/Kido and will find another INA pair as final hurdle. Berry Angriawan who teamed up with Rian Agung Saputro previously has new partner this season, Hardianto. The unranked Indonesians knocked out Japanese Endo/Watanabe in tight contest, 22-20 / 21-19. First tournament for Angriawan/Hardianto duet and the outcome present pretty good prospect in next tournaments.

WS, Saina Nehwal (IND) v Pornpawee Chochuwong (THA)
    H-2-H : 0-0 / WR : 10 v 67
Same fate for two HKG players in semifinal, the stunning defeat happened to second seed Cheung Ngan Yi who involved in gruelling match and lost to Thailand teenager Pornpawee Chochuwong while it's uphill task for Yip Pui Yin to overcome the overwhelming favourite Saina Nehwal. A tough job for the inexperienced Chochuwong who turns19 today to create huge upset in final as Nehwal regain her power and eye WS crown here to upgrade her ranking point.

Sad to see Lee Hyun II injured and forced to retire. The match could have gone either way.

Normally the MD is the last match. Unusual to see WS as the final match, especially since no MAS player is in it.

Lee Hyun was trying to recover a shot on the backcourt and accidently hit his eye with the racket.

MAS pair played well in game 1 but wasted a big lead and lost momentum. The INA pair were too strong in game 2.
