do not get your hopes up. this is not to say lcw will or will not play, i personally do not know.

those reports do not always reflect the truth. they only reflect paperwork that has been filed. some federations do not file paperwork on time. in the last tournament i ran i knew some players were not going to play. they personally told me. their federation did not file a notice until the night before the tournament started. the majority of federations are not known for their organizational efficiency and professionalism.

Maybe they have still hope that he'll recover in time. I mean, if he does not he can still withdraw.

I'm not sure how late you can withdraw without punishments.

True, but the punishments are financial, right? So LCW couldn't care less about that... :D

Hendrawan : " He's still registered to play. He's also been cleared by our physiotherapy staff to be fully recovered from the injury. But to compete again, we will need preparation(physical and on court training). We will judge from LCW's training, condition and preparation within this few weeks if we would clear him to play in All England. The decision will be last minute."

I doubt there will be any penalty (fine) if BAM doctors and coaches would officially provide letter to BWF stating they haven't cleared him to play All England post MCL injury.

Even if it occurs, it would be taken care of by BAM in this case.

This is a miraculous recovery indeed.

Didn't he have an MRI for the diagnosis?

fines are around $250. bam would pay bwf. whether bam takes it out of lcw's pay is up to bam.

this is not primary school. bwf entry rules apply to everyone/federation, no exceptions. they do not 'wait' for certain players to opt in or out of a tournament. entry deadlines serve a purpose.

Thank you samkool for the correct answer.

Even if BAM deduct from LCW, where will $250 go for a LCW?:D

For a torn ligament to recover that quickly is incredible. Probably the original diagnosis was wrong. Either that or Lee Chong Wei has similar healing powers to Wolverine.

Amazing indeed, the doctor estimated 3 to 6 weeks recovery originally, even if it takes 3 weeks at best, is he good to go ?

Personally I'd like to see him play. Perhaps the injury is milder than thought at first , the original assessment was a worst case scenario based on the doctor's prognosis, just to play safe.

Exactly. Probably a 'be on the safe side' diagnosis, no clear image or just something you cant see well in general, I dont know. But an actual tear wouldnt heal the quickly, I'm sure.
Maybe some slight damage, which would probably be just as painful, but not a lot of structural damage...? We'll see. Would be nice to see him play in good shape, but I'd rather have him take a break and recover properly than take a risk and play at 90% and maybe re-injure himself worse.

If he does end up playing at AE in a few wks time, doesn't that make it seem like he made an overly big deal of the mat incident?

If he's not 100% recovered, he shouldn't play and risk making it worse.

I injured my left knee and ankle last Sunday afternoon while playing badminton and they are both in bandages.
The floor was slippery and I landed awkwardly.
The bone setter says I need 3 to 4 weeks to heal completely and can't play during this time.
Wonder if LCW's medical staffs can help me.
