She's not changing her style, she just wants to play less risky on days where she doesnt feel great or makes too many errors. Nothing wrong with that, she'll still play fancy shots all the time I'm sure
It's not that she's changed her style, but you can't say she's playing the same way she did before either. You can see it clearly in the start-of-year competitions that she's gotten much better at choosing when to play fancy and when she shouldn't.
Seems a nice video about Tai tzu Ying. Sorry, I can't type a summary as I didn;t understand what they were saying haha. Can someone who understand post a summary, thanks.
She's on the way to master her own style, figuring out more precisely WHEN She should mind trick her opponents and when she rather burn them out instead (the victory against Akane as an example). That will make her deceptive style even more efficient since that brings a higher level of tactical variation. That's what her top form physical condition allows her now to do, it also shows how much different approaches can be learn if the player dare to try new (personally challenging) things. The SURPRISE FACTOR seems to be the most neglected aspect of pro gamers making it the most effective one as it save A LOT of energy while giving great situational advangates. Applyed consistenly it even create high level of mental fatigue in the long run. Check this 40min highlight of the new WS Queen and pay attention to her tactical awareness, when the shots are not random or picked up due to lazyness they create the most amazing long rallies I've seen :
She would have done much better than what she did, but the Yonex shoe saga set her back unfortunately... Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
That's a clip that you should watch every single time right before you leave the house to play badminton. Darn it, her racket skills are truly from a different dimension.
And since there is practically no badminton-related news (well, she is still undefeated in '17 after the Sudirman Cup... which makes it what, like 25 wins in a row?), I'm just gonna add another family picture. This time it's a family group picture with her latest trophies: They all have such a positive and happy aura.
TTY interview in TW 2 weeks ago. My Mandarin is not that strong. But a few interesting points. - when asked about where she got her deceptive playing from, she said she was always like that, which initially annoyed her coach to no end - she practices against tall players in order to prepare for her opponents who are mostly taller than her - her father actually cried during a TV interview when describing her shoe problem at Rio OG - when asked about romance, she had been once, but not now - she decided to get fitter in order to cover the court better and lost 10kg over a year - her goal is 2020 Tokyo OG She's truly an inspiring player. Easily the most improved pro player in the past 2 years. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
It was definitely noticable when her court coverage got better. I remember the match against Wang ShiXian (where she ended up in a heap on match point in the semifinals); her movement then looks comparatively heavy.
Wow. Losing 10 kg whilst gaining so much muscle mass in parallel, that's massive. Just look at that: Although I wonder how she can properly hold a racket with that swollen hand there.
Dont think she gained much muscle, just retained most of it Gesendet von meinem SM-G920F mit Tapatalk
