It is no trickery, it is strategy.

172 cm, Lee Chong Wei's height-- not really short, which accounts for why he can't move as fast as Watanabe; but on the short side for sure

Is there a rule against playing slowly?

Yes it seems that Lin Dan is only using 65% of his powers now. He has many hidden gearshifts left unused.

LOL, they have "not been in good form" for the last few tournaments they were in-- AFTER they reached World No. 1... I mean, how often can you surprise your opponents with your novel pairing/ play?

Only if neither party is trying to score at all and just rallying; or else Chen Long would have been carded long ago....

See 2012 Olympics KOR vs CHN WD with Yu Yang where they were disqualified.

That's the problem when you don't have a single Head Coach, the two respective Chief Coaches, Xia XZ for singles and Zhang Jun for doubles, have no say in each other's selection, no interference, no overrule, but to accept each other's choices without question.

I said whatever you said yesterday about video analysis of an indian player. You can't accept it though , the same video analysis thing if it comes to chinese players !

Dude , Hongkong players are coming very strongly. We should respect them for their wins instead of questioning the opponent's form, which i think was as good as before.

With this Chinese pair it is both their loss of stealth and opponent studying them but also their low form. Both.

If the strategy laid out is to delay the match to the max then Lin Dan really pushed set 1 almost to the max and still won. :D

Lin Dan picks up his own bag instead of XXZ doing it for him.

Okay, but if Lin Dan decides to lose 1 game-- then it's just shameless Chinese trickery...

I mean, all Lin Dan fans knows that his opponents only win when he lets them, right?

A younger LD would not have let this game get that close.
